Yup. If I remember right, you just start the credits and then hit SELECT. Plays the skit, followed by the two outtakes. I need to go back and play that game again at some point, maybe get the Steam version for $5 rather than dealing with an emulator and hunting down my disc.

I don’t actually have any horror stories, mostly because I only play with people I’m actually decent friends with.
As for the other things, those don’t seem fun at all. I don’t see how they’re adding anything to the experience. And yet somehow that still triggered my fear of missing out.
Then again, this is coming from someone whose mental health took a drastic turn for the better when lockdowns started, just because I didn’t have to deal with people on a daily basis.

I’ve considered buying that on Steam or GoG so many times. I had the discs way back in the day but couldn’t play it (or even install it). Guy I knew left it and Planescape: Torment with me because they were both too scratched up to work. Always wondered what kind of game it was.

wait, DnD? what are yall? some stereotipycal huge nerds?

jokes aside, ive always wanted to get into the innenet versions of it but i kind of lack the time. besides DnD or such similiar games never reached this corner of the world, or atleast didnt get any traction to the point that when stranger things became popular a lot of people here went “wait, the hell is a DnD?”

@Azure Fang
i agree with sapphie there, that sounds like a huge pain, but that might just be me due to the previusly mentioned circumstances

It was a PS2 launch title and it shows. It’s a third-person, party-based RPG that’s kind of a hybrid between action and turn-based, with unique characters filling the roles of archetypical fantasy classes, sparse gear progression, and a pretty basic skill system. It’s nothing fantastic, but worth $5.

Again, to each their own. For me, it’s one of the few forms of social interaction that doesn’t “trigger” me and has historically been extremely therapeutic. But we’re all different.

I feel like there are some people in chat who would like it if I started a DnD/Pathfinder campaign. Maybe I should take this to/start another thread for that discussion? O.O

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I get that reference!

I wouldn’t mind running (or playing) a Goblin Slayer inspired campaign though. Monsters that are usually considered mere pests by the wider world being kept in check by the PCs, who are faced with the harsh reality that these creatures can easily get out of hand if left to their own devices.

Only if players are interested though, we can do the usually Save the World adventure if you guys really want…
…I just prefer campaigns with a somewhat smaller scale, since world-saving adventures tend to have a foregone conclusion.

I’d actually be down for a small-scale campaign. My main campaign is on hold for another few months, so I’d be able to participate in another campaign. I just don’t wanna commit to another super long campaign and end up in 3 simultaneous campaigns. But I like to think I’m low prio. If your hard cap is 4 players and we have 5, I won’t mind sitting it out.

The process of merging all of my inventories from my No Man’s Sky second expedition save into my main save using the save editor is a slow and boring process, but I’ll be damned if I’m leaving my gains behind after being spoiled by Path of Exile’s shared inventory when leagues end.

I had a friend do the same. Then he took the equally long task of merging his inventories to the new main. My current save is too advanced, and surprisingly hasn’t bugged out with any of the 7 or so title updates since it was created. Still won’t shed a tear if (when) a title update borks it and I have to start fresh, though. Such is the way of things. But until then, I can sit here merging stacks and currencies, then treat myself to another frigate-headhunting session to find more fuel efficient “employees”.

EDIT: Just landed on a space station for the first time since the update. Holy crap they did a lot of detailing. The tables have tablecloths now.

Weird but I guess it could work. When I started the last expedition I actually started in a system with a dead station and, since I pretty much just hit for a few hours and then dropped it on account of the reward being kind of ass, I didn’t actually get to see that.

If anyone has played with Long War 2 mod, how is it? Is it like UFO Defense/Xenonauts, where soldiers are somewhat expendable, or like the Firaxis games where losing too many of your A-Team is practically game over? It’s more fun in my opinion when making horrible mistakes can be recovered from.
Besides, what’s the point of having a memorial wall to showcase the meatgrinder if it never gets filled?

@EverfreeEmergencies
The first mission has you start with like 12 people, so pretty sure it’s closer to Xenonauts than to vanilla. That said, it’s ridiculously CPU-demanding and doesn’t come with any retarded-pause reductions itself, so I haven’t actually played past said first mission due to it being GLACIALLY FUCKING SLOW. It’s really overdoing it on the Long part.

Man, the conversation keeps going back to games I’ve never played, so lemme try to remedy that…
Anyone here play Binding of Isaac? What’s your favourite character?
Prior to repentance, my fave was the Lost, with the Keeper a distant second (I loved going for shop breaks), on par with Isaac.
In repentance, my favourite character is by far Tainted Keeper (high risk, OP reward), with Tainted Lost being a surprising second. And regular Lost not even being in my top 5 due to how they nerfed the everloving fuck out of him

Haven’t been able to look at Isaac since Repentance. Used to love the game pre-Repentance, but the expansion completely skewed balance (yeah, some of it was needed, but a lot of it wasn’t). It feels like Edmund actively tried to ruin Isaac (which, history considered, wouldn’t surprise me) but surprised pikachu face’d when the most hardcore players kept playing. Moved on to other rogue-likes/-lites, but I keep checking the patch notes when they pop up and laugh over my <insert time of day> coffee and get a good laugh whenever I see change rollbacks.

I’m actually happy with most of the balance decisions. Well, except for The Lost, those nerfs were undeserved, and the compensatory buff really wasn’t much. I was always a shill for for angel rooms, so devil deals being nerfed wasn’t too much of a dealbreaker to me. Same for shop breaks, as much as I enjoy them, after the 600th I got kinda bored of it. I remember there are a few items where I thought “did this really need to be nerfed?” looking at you tech 0
But then there’s also the buffs, which I’m so happy with. So many dogshit items are now actually usable. Not to mention, lucky foot—and by extension Cain—was reverted to what it was in Flash, and I legit shed a tear of happiness when I found out.
I’m actually the opposite. I’d put Isaac aside after getting 1000000%, and switched to other games, but with repentance there’s so much new stuff that I’ve dumped like… 300 hours into the game since the dlc came out. And that’s considering I don’t really have that much time to play games during the semester.
