Why would it? It’s an advertisement.

The one for The Sims 3 is definitely the worst, however the one they introduced for Civ 5 nearly a decade on is the one that infuriates me the most. Civ 6 blew ass and nobody plays it so they went back and fucked with Civ 5. That launcher, in addition to being ugly as fuck, has crashed every single time I’ve ever run it and occasionally brings the game down with it when it does so. Fortunately most launchers can be bypassed fairly easily if you search a bit.

Basically all of that sounds terrible. I’m glad I ignored it. To be honest, I wrote it off as soon as I saw the viper waifu recruit. It felt like Firaxis was aware of how much traction the vipers had gotten on e621 and decided to cash in. I had no expectations from that point on.

dunnow, id say canon snek waifus are worth it enough

memes aside, i really dislike how dumbed down the tactics and tension are, i remember how back in xcom i lost half my squad and had to replace them with those robot tank things

I wonder what version of Sims 3 is the least laggy and buggy in general overall?

One that was milked dry and then milked some more anyway for that crusty stuff that accumulates along the rim of the carton.

There’s a few way to improve its performance, though, including some that you can do with nothing more than notepad. If memory serves I believe you can substantially increase both its RAM and CPU usage that way. Limiting the framerate also helps a lot. Then there’s a few well-known and apparently effective 3rd party tools & patches, but I’ve never needed more than the stuff I listed prior so I haven’t used any of them.

I find it funny that Far Cry 6 dropped a trailer just a few days ago. At that time I was reflecting on how much of a disappointment Far Cry 5 was. It looks like they’re still spinning their wheels in the same rut they dug with 3, so I’m definitely passing on this one.

And Ubisoft has been very careful to tell us that “Far Cry 6 isn’t a political statement”. It’s set in lawyer-friendly Cuba and you build a resistance to overthrow the dictator. Interesting that depicting the overthrow of a communist regime is something that makes devs nervous now.

Pretty much guaranteed to be a political statement. Want to bet on how many women and transsexuals will be there in La Resistance and how little heed will be paid to the supply problems they’d inevitably hit if they were in actual guerilla?

Is it still the open-world watchtower nonsense? If yes, pass, it was old and overdone at the second game ever with it. Maybe if they’ll come back to Far Cry 1/Crysis’s premise (I should stick a few mods on the former and replay it tbh).

It’s probably from how often the games seize control of the character’s field of vision. Ubi is a little aggressive with the camera in the name of being cinematic, and it’s a first-person game.

For me it was just too samey. There’s no real sense of progression, the majority of the map could be mistaken for any other part of the map, the environment was given that ugly ass “real is brown” treatment and, frankly, none of the NPCs stood out to me aside from the Jackal (or whatever he was called) and that guy who reminded me of the face merc from the Mercenaries series (why did we never get a third game? Those were awesome). From start to finish, it felt like I was playing the start.

Setting the tall grass on fire was fun, though.

Oh no, he's here?
@FeatherTrap
It depends on how it’s presented. Oversaturation is irritating, especially if it makes no sense for the setting. But if it’s a reference here or there, it fits the story/setting of the game, or content/characters/weapons/equipment are optional, then it adds character (IMO).

The same arguments could be made about movie/TV/music references in video games, or the reverse - video game references in <insert media type here>. In the end, it’s all media culture regardless of source, and balance is key.

Do kids today even know what a CD is?

You should ask them. “Do you know about CDs?” And if they say “What’s that,” just point to your groin and say “C deez nuuuuuuuuuuts!” Then establish your dad joke dominance by doing the Moonwalk.

True, from what little I played it felt more like a sandbox than a campaign, although that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. More games could use the simplicity of “here’s the tutorial, here’s your main objective, go figure it out”. As far as the NPCs go, I hardly remember anything about them besides theyalwaystalkedlikethisbecauseapparentlyexpositionmustbedeliveredasfastaspossibleasifeveryonetookcaffeinatedheroinbeforespeakingtoyou
