Meanwhile, reality: chance of an asymptomatic carrier to transmit the virus 0.7%, of symptomatic one 17% (actually slightly higher because of flaw in identifying carriers) while completely ignoring all measures. Thanks, China and your turbo unethical but actually functional testing!  
Oh and the whole “if the virus was as infectious and lethal as propaganda keeps claiming, you’d need dedicated corpse-removers and piles of said corpses in every city, Black Plague-style”. 2% of New York is 165671 people. The burial ferry to Hart Island’d be extremely busy, compared to its usual rate of 1500 a year.

Back when I worked at the grocery store,we had to take a test about sexual harassment. I was one of only seven people who got a perfect score. Even if there was stuff I disagreed with on the test,I still knew what answer it wanted.

There’s 100 or more planets in our solar system. The IAU’s definition is unscientific garbage, voted on by only a handful of members when most of them were unavailable on purpose because a very small minority wanted to force Pluto into not being a planet anymore.
 
We can say definitively that the Earth is a planet. Earth is the paradigm example of what a planet is. All other planets must meet the same qualifications of the Earth to count as planets. This is true a priori.
 
This is one of two main ways we know the IAU decision to demote Pluto is invalid as science. First, the IAU made the decision based on a vote. Science isn’t a democracy. You don’t get to vote whether something is true or not. You have to test it and re-test it and other people have to test it. It doesn’t matter if you have a “96% consensus” (actually something like 96% of abstracts that were looked at for the meta-analysis at the time mentioned anthropogenic global warming, they didn’t endorse the idea, they just mentioned it), science isn’t based on consensus. There was a consensus 500 years ago that the Sun orbited the Earth but that didn’t make it true.
 
Fewer than 5% of IAU members actually voted on the decision anyway, so it’s a crappy vote.
 
Second, the definition chosen for what qualifies as a planet is totally arbitrary and can be made to exclude the Earth. Planets must have “cleared the neighborhood around its orbit,” which is a totally vapid and arbitrary criterion. The farther from a star a planet gets the more massive it needs to be to qualify as a planet because the amount of space it needs to “clear” becomes greater. By this definition if the Earth were placed in Pluto’s orbit - 29-39 AU - then the Earth would not be considered a planet either because it wouldn’t have enough mass to vacuum up the inner Kuiper Belt. But the Earth IS a planet where it is in space, meaning the third criterion doesn’t signify anything intrinsic about the body itself. The definition of what is and is not a planet should not rest on some factor independent of the planet itself.
 
The third criterion for what qualifies a planet is not based on any intrinsic quality of the body itself but its relationship between it and its parent star. As such it is totally arbitrary and was designed (by admission) to disqualify Pluto and not based on sound scientific reasoning. The rule seemed carefully crafted so that “dwarf planets” like Pluto, Eres and Ceres (another body that was a planet for 50 years) didn’t make the cut.
 
The definition of “planet” also makes explicit reference to the Sun, so bodies orbiting other stars are by definition not planets, they’re “exo-planets”, which is more unscientific bullshit.
 
This isn’t exactly a rigorous scientific argument—so to give its decision the flavor of science, the IAU came up with a definition of “planet” so convoluted it seemed entirely arbitrary. To qualify as a planet, a body must orbit the Sun and be large enough to be at least roughly spherical—two rules that make sense. But it must also have gravitationally “cleared its neighborhood” of other bodies, meaning it has its orbital traffic lane all to itself, which Pluto doesn’t—at least during the most remote portion of its journey around the sun.

I’m assuming that’s targeted at me, considering the Parler reference. The point of the connection is that Parler has been caught censoring liberal speech (or anything that doesn’t echo established conservative narratives, for that matter), making it no better than twitter on the other end of the spectrum. As to being a “partisan tribal”, nice strawman; that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’d say let’s take this to a proper thread, but with ad hominem attacks being thrown from the outset I can already tell that debate would go nowhere fast.

Parler is not the host. Parler is the social network the site is organizing from, already known to be extremely slanted toward one end off the political spectrum. “Casually dismissing” is accurate, because it’s easy to dismiss what’s already been skewed to fit a specific narrative. And those affidavits, as has been pointed out many times, must be corroborated to have merit, otherwise said merit comes from the person behind each affidavit or their knowledge of the claims made, and a significant count have failed one or both legal tests.
 
Now, if you have an unedited evidence source with legal backing, I’d love to see it. But in a more appropriate thread as my own responses have gone beyond the scope of this shitposting thread.

Thought I’d update y’all. Just got back from the doctor because I had a 104 fever. All the tests came back negative. Whatever this is the doctor doesn’t know, so he’s treating it like the flu. He wants me to come back Saturday.

I had a friend who tested positive and had it for like a week before he knew he had it, but he said he didn’t realize it because to him, it just felt like he caught a cold. He didn’t have trouble breathing or anything. I swear, this whole corona scare was blown WAY out of proportion.

Me and my mom got tested for covid today, and the results came quick, she tested negative, while I tested positive.  
On the bright side, I do feel better than I did a few days ago.

I downloaded some new Brushes for FireAlpaca. I think the best way to test them out is to draw some stuff. Jokey stuff only and nothing too complex.

I don’t know if this counts, but I’ve been working off and on on a game that combines diplomacy, warfare, and economics since about 1999/2000. It’s been through about 10 major and minor variations and 4 test games have been played on versions 1, 2.1, 3, and 5.1 (5.3 is the current version). It’s so complicated that no one person can finish it.
