You may have noticed things are broken, namely anything related to email and some of the tags and dates.The email is a simple explanation - we’re running an older version of philomena that has an expired CA Certificates package and thus mail server connections cannot be made securely. Instead of bypassing security I’ve decided that I’m leaving it broken for now in lieu of rebuilding the server.The missing tags and dates on forum posts and image posts is due to an indexing bug, that we discovered by accident also due to an expired ca cert + made worse by the root disk filling up. It works now, but until we re-index manually they will continue to be broken.The fix for both of these is jumping ship from our custom branch of philomena back to baseline branch, then importing our features over again - namely MP4 support and our themes. At this point mainline Philomena is pretty much identical to what we’ve had for 3 years - with significant performance gains which would show up on our much beefier hardware.The reason this hasn’t been knocked out and finished is because I’m focusing on what really matters in life right now, family. Those of you in the know, knew that I got hit directly by a tornado a month ago and have had all of my time monopolized in storm cleanup. Before that it was 100% monopolized by working 70-100h weeks to pay off debt (Of which a good portion of that was one of the hardware nodes this site runs off of.) I’m debt free and have a handful of savings, of which some of it will go into buying another car since mine was smashed by a tree.As I’m rolling through projects, upgrades, getting family matters taken care of, and planning for mare fair this year Ponybooru has taken the backburner role. However, it’s definitely not being given up on. If I was giving up I’d have pulled the plug and turned off the VM a long time ago, this shit ain’t cheap to keep running lol.Bear with me as I slowly piece my life back together and will hopefully have this site running at peak performance once more.
