Disney’s solution to falling demand for Galactic Starcruiser rooms is to offer a 50% discount to cast members. Disney already knows that they don’t pay their cast members enough for them to afford a $2,000 to $3,000 weekend, with upcharges.

Ant Man 3’s box office dropped 67.9% between its first and second weekends, a new record for the MCU.
The Hollywood Reporter says it got “mauled by ‘Cocaine Bear,’” which overperfomed.

Cocaine Bear was only released in North American theaters and brought in $23 million opening weekend. It isn’t why Ant-Man 3 hit a wall.

It was targeted at roughly the same demographic as Ant-Man, it opened in two of the largest movie markets, and it overperformed. I’m not going to say it was the only or primary reason Ant Man isn’t doing well, but I don’t think you can’t say having strong competition wasn’t a factor.

My main point though was to highlight the massive drop-off. A lot of people are interpreting it as a sign that audiences are tired of Marvel, which poses a threat to Disney’s cash cow.

Whatever the cause, it’s good that general audiences are finally waking up to the current state of the MCU, if not cinema as a whole. I just wish it hadn’t taken an entire botched phase to do it.

As much as I do not like current-year Disney, I don’t believe its right to say Disney never tried since its inception in the early 1920s. They were once a great, or at least, good company which had its ups and downs from time to time. Walt Disney Did try with his company during his life, as did his blood relative. Disney as a company fell close to the worst of bankruptcy more than once during its history, such as during the WW2 era. Even when Disney went and let Michael “mixed business decisions and defunct rides galore” Eisner in as CEO, They still had some Soul in them by the start of the 2000s. The last Straw for me was not them buying Marvel, nor was it them shutting down their 2D animation department after 2011 “Winnie the Pooh”, but how they as a company went lazy with their handling of the sequel trilogy, (not to mention their casting aside of George Lucas’s Outline completely) and their lack of planning on both Kathleen “Asshole Gynocentrist” Kennedy’s and Bob “former weatherman” Iger. It truly is not truly Magical as it was anymore. LET THEM ROT!

Disney’s Cotino community is finally under construction, after nearly a year of planning. I dislike the concept of ‘Storyliving’ immensely, and can only hope this doesn’t pan out for them, so they aren’t encouraged to move forward with their plan to make these in other states.

It’s hard to say. They did well with previous moves in this direction, but that was helped by proximity to their parks. It remains to be seen if they can ruse people with nothing other than a lightly themed gated community, but with how many (wealthy) people still live and breathe this corrupt company, I think they will succeed.

The live-action Peter Pan looks terrible. It’s so bad, it’s united both sides of the aisle against it, just like Velma did, a fact which took the wind from their sails when they predictably claimed that everyone who didn’t like the trailer is racist. Disney has been blocking the accounts of YouTubers who did trailer reaction videos.

Looks like a bland movie with muddy visuals. At least it’s not a remake, just a Peter Pan adaptation that happens to be produced by Disney.

The writer for the Quantumania has found a way to convince himself that the feedback he’s getting is wrong, so he’s committed to not changing his approach for the next Avengers movie. Might as well call the phase here.

I like how people are starting to come around with regard to Scorsese and even Coppola’s views. For a while there, it seemed that not even Phase 4 was making a dent in audience goodwill.

I always believed that Endgame was going to be the high water mark. They spent an entire decade building hype for that, and now that it’s been done before it probably won’t be as effective if they tried to do another decade-long story arc.

Plus, of course, it was evident even before Endgame that they were going to start sidelining their popular legacy characters in favor of the cringy diversity tokens from the newer comics.
