Can we not have secret police again? You either go full “anonymous shadow council” meme like the 4chan jannies or something, which is a huge meme, or you need some actual transparency including actually listing staff members on the staff page.

Hi and thanks for ponybooru.  
Right now I’m exporting pics from Derpi.  
I keep description, source links, and all the tags except the ones that contain Derpi meta, like references to comments or “featured image”.  
I’m also running duplicate detection, that’s pretty much works great, but in exceptional cases prefers not to upload the picture than to upload a potential duplicate.  
Let me know if you want me to slow down or change the algorithm somehow.

Filters continue to be adjusted - There will likely be more filters added as time permits, however there will not be a true everything filter.
 
I’ve been managing the release - it’s working pretty good, one hiccup but other than that works well.
 
Admins, mods assistants? Well, I have a few but for at least the first 2 weeks all of them are to hold their position anonymously. After this time they’ll be given the option to wear the badge publicly throughout the site.
 
Rules are still being tweaked, I made a big oopsie when I first went live I copied over an older version of the rules file. I had it in my mind to edit it and forgot, had the text editor closed, opened it and then just copied it without thinking.
 
Still coming up with a proper way to tag “furry” that would both be appropriate to the artists, and appropriate to the users in a defined manner that won’t catch canon MLP characters but catches rather borderline things. This is really a judgement call and partially relies on the artist or uploader to appropriately tag their content. It’ll be helpful when I get more of an idea what I’m (potentially) dealing with. This was actually a pretty hot topic among many people I inquired for advice. This, and the “not pony related” tag, which by it’s name does not belong on the site.
 
I’m open to advice, though be aware I am pretty busy.

Remove furries. They have basically everywhere else on the internet they can post. If Derpi falls the only pony booru left will be Rainbooru outside of a few extremely niche websites.

Well, the point is the site is open for everyone. And i can understand this decision based on “person who don’t like those things doesn’t immediately want to see Aryanne or Foalcon on their front page”. Regardless of twitter mob or not, it’s mostly to keep your back safe from individuals who will claim they weren’t warned about this before accessing the frontpage.
 
I know it sounds stupid, but you have to understand that people are what they are. The main thing is that tags aren’t shadowbanned and you can access them via custom filters.
 
And yes, filter descriptions should be adjusted. There’s a lot of things to be done tbh, but everything needs to be discussed and thought out before final decisions.

Pretty sure folks aren’t immediately going to take offense to a cute filly for it specifically being that filly unless they’re part of the twitter mob.

The general thought process behind that was putting stuff people would glance at and may immediately take offense to on the filter, is that they’d be less likely to find it. And if they did find it, by changing their filter, they made a conscious effort to do so.
 
There will be more filter changes and stuff , it’s very much ongoing right now.

Seeing as Luftkrieg doesn’t actually have a buttmark I can understand the question there. There’s no actual nazi imagery or implications based solely on the character, or in most of their images that I’ve seen.
 
Properly tagging images of them with ‘nazi’ when appropriate for the image, and leaving the character out of the filter does make sense.

Could the goose tag be moved up from a general tag to a species tag, same as alicorn and pony?

I can get Aryanne getting filtered simply for rump marking, even if i disagree with such, but the filly? What’s your reasoning behind that one?

I’m still making judgement calls, and I’m far from being done or set.  
Politics tag, I can add that in default - that’s not a problem.
 
The idea of default filters being used is so a user has to consciously change their filter. In doing so they agree to the rules, and the subsequent restrictions therein. Same with the Everything filter, which is an extra step requiring login. (Or again, a conscious effort to evade.)
 
I’m attempting to work with some people to try and make it so we don’t get blocked abroad - filters are good for that.
