Square Enix finally listened… in the most asinine way possible, but still. Final Fantasy I - VI are getting proper pixel remasters, the abhorrent failures that are the current V and VI are being delisted from Steam, and the games are set to start releasing in July. This includes what will be the first ever release of an “original” version of Final Fantasy III in the United States, as opposed to the reinvisionments that have been sold since the NDS.
Loving the improvements to the backgrounds, but the sprites still feel like they could use a little work. Maybe just a little more contrast (old on top, new bottom):
