The Year 2038 Problem is one of the hypothetical future problems the humanity will face. It consist in a failure on the software systems which, as its name says, will probably happen in the year 2038. The problem affects programs that use the POSIX (Unix Time) system-based representation of time, which is based on counting the number of seconds that have elapsed since the night of January 1, 1970 at 00:00:00 (ignoring leap seconds).
