The bald eagle is an opportunistic carnivore with the capacity to consume a great variety of prey. Fish often comprise most of the eagle’s diet throughout their range.[55] In 20 food habit studies across the species’ range, fish comprised 56% of the diet of nesting eagles, birds 28%, mammals 14% and other prey 2%.[56] More than 400 species are known to be included in the bald eagle’s prey spectrum.

Fort Wayne, Indiana had a mayor named Harry Baals (and yes, he pronounced it “hairy balls”). The people of Fort Wayne voted overwhelmingly to name the new government building “The Harry Baals Center”, receiving more votes than every other option combined, but the government decided to name it “Citizens Square” instead.
His descendants have changed the pronunciation of their surname to “bales” for unknown reasons.

The first use of the term ‘faggot’ in print was in the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser on Saturday, June 3rd, 1843, in a news report of a gluttonous man who ate twelve of them.

I’m pretty sure we’ve got YouTubers today who could do that for lunch without even thinking twice about it. MovieBob’s infamous McDonald’s tweet comes to mind.

The world’s longest car is “The American Dream”, a very heavily modified 1976 Cadillac Eldorado limousine that was stretched to 100 feet in length.
Built in 1986 the car was “only” 60 feet long originally but underwent a major rebuild from 2019 - 2022 for $250,000, nearly doubling the length.
“The American Dream includes material pleasures fit for a king; a large waterbed, a swimming pool complete with a diving board, jacuzzi, bathtub, mini-golf course, a helipad, and can fit more than 75 people!”
It was built as a novelty vehicle and when popularity waned it was put away in a warehouse in New Jersey (where dreams go to die).
Michael Dezer, owner of the Dezerland Tourist Attractions, bought the car in 2019 for his car museum in Orlando, Florida. The car was cut in half and shipped on two trucks. When it arrived it was reassembled and refurbished and now is on public display along with these other oddities.

It’s a fetid swamp run by Lil Ronnie and full of boomers who buy multiple properties they don’t live in rather than doing what every other generation in history has done which is die and give their money to the next generation already. They’d rather sell their property to global megabanks and the Chinese instead, because it’s not a place to live for them, it’s an investment in making sure future generations will never have the money to invest in anything ever again.

Allegedly, Napoleon was actually quite tall for his day, he just surrounded himself with men who were freakishly giant so he looked short by comparison.

It’s true. He was about 5’7”. The thing about him being short was English propaganda. The units of measure were different between the two countries, and the French inch was longer. British information sources consistently described his height without converting it to English units or explaining the difference.
