I once won a contest for a Lego Darth Vader keychain. It is the only contest I’ve won.

Nice dubs, I once got second place on a chess tournament in school, without knowing how to play chess, none of my opponents arrived, and on the last part there were only two people left, I played once and obviously lost.

As a child I once entered a connect-4 competition by my hotel’s pool in… Spain? Majorca? Somewhere like that.
 
My first round was against a girl. We both just stacked our coins seperately. I won, having gone first. She kept going and got 4. I hadn’t put my hand up. When the staff came over, he decided she had won. Fun.

Ouch man, losing for a technicality, that must have sucked.

I got 8th place in a spelling bee once. There were only eight students in the class, and I suck at spelling.

I think the prize was a transformers toy. I didn’t really care much for the series, so I don’t think I was that down about it, more the fact that I won. It’s not a big deal.

To test the ejection seat on the B-58 Hustler the US Air Force shot bears out of the plane to see if humans could survive ejecting at mach 2.
 
That’s a lot funnier than it should be. Can you imagine trying to put a bear in an airplane?

Yes. Bears sometimes get stuck in trees and animal control has to shoot them down with tranquilizers. It happened pretty close to where I live. It’s actually pretty funny.

I just googled it and seems legit, it appears that disney will absorb every IP and characters of the studio including Ice Age and Rio and then close the studio.

Lemmings don’t jump off cliffs. In 1958 Walt Disney wanted to make a sensationalist nature documentary so the filmmakers intentionally threw lemmings off a cliff and drowned them to make them look like suicidally stupid animals.

Thought so when I saw the link. I remember that one.

On 21 October 1967 a group of people led by David Dellinger and Allen Ginsberg surrounded the Pentagon with an attempt to levitate it. Noam Chomsky was there too. The group had actually gotten a permit to levitate the building no more than ten feet off the ground.
 
The attempt failed because unbeknownst to the group it is impossible to levitate five-sided structures because of the harmonic resonance of the shape. The Pentagon remained firmly planted in the ground and everyone went home.

They’re actually pretty good swimmers so they consistently refused to drown.

Many newspapers (kids won’t know what those are, they’re like blogs that are a day late and make your hands dirty when you touch them) are called gazettes because one of the first newspapers was from Venice and cost a single coin which was called a Gazzetta.
