To save the peregrine falcon from extinction, they got up close and personal with it.
 
The handlers wear special hats called (no joke) fuck hats in order to collect the falcon’s semen. The falcons latch onto the hat while the human handler is wearing it to mate with it. While this is happening, the falconers mimic the mating call of the female and bob their heads up and down until the male falcon has finished. They then harvest the semen for later use.
