Saw a Yahoo article “She lost her job and decided to move to Mexico to open a B&B”. Yeah, because that’s the FIRST thing I think of after losing my job, moving to another country, buying property, and starting a business.

You read on. This is 1999. She actually had a really high paying job at a pharmaceutical company. Her husband was also rich. They sold their house, worth $400,000 in 1999 (easily $2 million today), spent something like $190,000 on the land and $75,000 in construction costs, and are now living it up in Mexico raking in money.

This is something totally unattainable for 99.999% of everyone on the planet, but it’s Yahoo so the comments section is full of retards telling you “Anyone with good economic literacy could do that!” (actual quote) That wasn’t even true in 1999, when the economy was fantastic, it’s certainly not true in 2024.

I think I’ve been brain-poisoned by DUSTBORN <XP

After watching through the Bickering Bunch playthrough and then the Archcast playthrough of DUSTBORN back to back, I think my brain was so determined to find anything, any single, solitary thing of value from that seemingly unending slog of misery and cringe - something other then the hate-watching and laughing at the writing for how God-forsaken awful it is…

That I actually started liking one of the songs from the game…if only because it was the only one that our “heroes”-no fuck that actually, we’ll just call them villain-protagonists - didn’t write and perform themselves.

And even then, the game was determined to test my patience by having at least two sing-a-long sections bookending the game in the Prologue and the final moment of calm before the rushed-as-fuck finale.

Y’all can’t deny this is the best original song from the game. I know that’s not saying much, given how all our villain-protagonist’s songs are completely rancid, and with the exception of their theme song - which is the first song unlocked and the absolute worst - they only decrease in quality as the game goes on. But still, by that metric this song I’ve linked is unquestionably the best one.

If you haven’t watched a playthrough of the game: Don’t ask what the lovecraftian abomination on the cover of that album is about, trust me the answer is wholy unsatsifiying and stupid. XP

I don’t know why you keep perpetuating this narrative that my decision to resign from the volunteer team was some huffy sour breakup and I don’t ever want to even see this site ever again but PLEASE FUCKING STOP IT.
You know that’s not fucking true, I left because I had a vision for the project that no-one else seemed to agree to once they properly understood it, and the guy I was hiring to help make it didn’t want to work on it, therefore I had no purpose left on the team. It was entirely for pragmatic reasons, not emotional ones, stop it with this crap please.

I just don’t often have a lot to say is all, especially now with a lot going on in my personal life…deciding to change direction after a spiritual awakening (more like kick-in-the-gut but whatever), major house renovation work, my bf going through some grief loosing his two beloved cats in the span of a single month…

I don’t have much to say-at least not that this site would be interested in, judging by how many posts I made to the forums that literally did not earn a single reply-at the best of times, and this is not the best of times for me.

I’m sorry for making that assumption. I just noticed that you sometimes go through long periods when you don’t post anything so I had assumed you abandoned the site.

I can certainly understand being preoccupied with IRL stuff.

Honestly, I’m wondering what I should do now that I’ve decided I want to live closer to God - and consequently abandon porn.
I have so much lewd content on my account I’ve been wondering if it’s worth all deleting entirely. I know some people will demand it stay, if only for the sake of archival reasons.

I don’t know. I’m not in your situation (yet), but if you think deleting the lewd stuff on your account is the right thing to do then go ahead and do it. It’s already been archived on other sites (where it will remain regardless of what you do), so you don’t have to worry about keeping it on your profile if you don’t want to.

Anyway, I just wanted someone to respond to my post to confirm whether or not anyone else thinks the song is actually kinda decent, or if I’ve just been brain-poisoned by listening to all the awful fucking soundtrack through two back-to-back playthroughs and wanted at least one of them to have some kind of value beyond hate-fuel. And thus: I defaulted to the only one that the titular protagonists don’t actually write and perform themselves, making it unquestionably the best by default.

I just listened to the song. It’s not my cup of tea, but I do agree that it’s a decent song on its own merit, even if the lyrics don’t make much sense.

But if that’s the best the game has, then the rest of the soundtrack probably isn’t worth a listen.
