It seems like he’s won. The dismissal of his case is due to him being granted an autism deferral. That means he’s never going to be ruled guilty, and so won’t go on the sex offender registry. Since he’s officially not competent to stand trial, he’s also not competent to live on his own, so he’s going to be institutionalized for life. There’s a possibility that he’s still receiving the
tugboat, in which case most of it will be going to pay the home he’s in. If not, he’s just being put up by the government. Either way, homes still dole out some spending money, and he clearly has enough to get a
Switch, a
Playstation, and to fund a magic card habit. He’s got
Internet access, and a place that takes care of him and provides food. He’ll never be homeless, and he’ll never see prison.
As long as Chris doesn’t commit any more crimes, he’s achieved the best outcome he could feasibly have hoped for.
