It very much is the ‘philosophy of not wanting to initiate force.’ The left has demonstrated time and time again that using state power gets you what you want, that asking politely doesn’t get you anything, and that even if you just want to be left alone, they will come for you anyway.

1960s Louisiana literacy test for voters. Anyone with a 5th grade education should be able to complete it in under 10 minutes. If you can’t just burn your own neighborhood to the ground and get unelected judges to say it’s illegal.

A few of the questions are worded confusingly and I think the time allotted should be 15-20 minutes, but other than that it seems like a fairly reasonable intelligence test.

Normally I would be fine with just land-owners voting, but this would probably disqualify quite a few of those too. So I’d support something like this being introduced also.

Even if something like this managed to get passed into law, there would still need to be measures taken against these tests being cheated on. (i.e., them being outsourced to others on someone’s behalf.) So these tests would need to be done in person with ID verification.

I would say to just set some straightforward standard of who can or can’t vote.

The big difference between the two is that the Federal government will allow/support one but not the other.

The problem is these whistleblowers don’t have a dead man’s switch rigged up before going public. Something on a clock that automatically releases all of the information to the public if they’re not alive to input a certain code every little bit to reset the clock.
