Big Bad Politics!

The real reason people that aren’t retarded support green energy is to make their country energy independent so they don’t get sucked into to the coming resource wars when the fossil fuels and radioactive rare earth materials run out.
France was smart getting in on the ground and are now quids in selling power to the rest of Europe that has loss access to the Ruskie teat.
It’s going to take a decade to build the renewables infrastructure and to horde enough rate earth metals to make the generators, best to do it now while the going is good and no one gives a shit.
Also domestic pollution is a quarter out of a pie that is a third taken up by the real problem, big dirty factories in the second and third world that don’t use scrubbers that no one will ever do anything about because their making money on them churning out plastic shit that breaks the first time you use it.

Yes, sustainable clean energy is important. It’s why the eco terrorists need to stop fighting against nuclear and pushing those ugly turbines that kill eagles or freeze up in the winter like what happened in Texas.
We have made big strides in nuclear. It’s nowhere near as dangerous and filthy as it used to be. All that smoke you see pluming out the top is just steam. Nuclear power plants use water based cooling systems. The waste is put into barrels and locked away underground in sealed up stone storage bunkers.
And the reason the rest of Europe needed energy from Russia in the first place was because of their deranged far left green policies. In fact Trump warned Germany about it and they laughed at him.
Renewable infrastructure is fine and dandy, but cutting off what we are currently using and forcing it through is not the answer. In fact it’s demented. Electric cars are far too expensive for the common person, yet Biden shuts down pipelines and fights against fracking and puts us in things like the Green New Deal, which has been nothing but a scam. The US is the only country paying for it while all the other countries and private interests line their pockets with it.
We should continue to use what resources we have available while we invest in finding better ways to generate clean energy. The turbines ain’t cutting it. Personally I think there is some merit to using perpetual motion generators and should be investing in perfecting that. If every home had a batch of high quality ones installed in boxes on the roof or something every person could have their own with no power grid needed. I’ve seen people make small, slow ones and power light bulbs and shit with them. The concept is there.

Dude, America has Navada, miles of empty desert that no one uses, prime to slap in a couple of million solar panels and thermal generators.
Fracking is a great way to poison yourself and collapse your house, it’s a terrible idea that causes more problems that it solves. But I’ll agree there can’t be a sudden switch like those just stop oil retards seem to think is going to happen, we’re looking at a half century transition at best, but nuclear isn’t the answer, it’s just kicking the can down the road a little and wasting resources that could go elsewhere and you’ll still end up having to go to war over very limited radioactive material.
The electric cars we have now are status items for the rich just like the first petrol cars, my country is working to get the infrastructure in place for them, otherwise there is no market incentive to develop reliable mass models.

President Joe Biden says he is not seeking reelection in a letter posted to X on his official account. Biden says he will speak to the nation later this week in more detail.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden wrote. “And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Biden’s departure capped off weeks of concern about the 81-year-old president’s stamina and mental capabilities and skepticism of his ability to effectively campaign against Trump and govern the country for another four years. Biden’s decision is also likely to raise questions about his ability to fulfill the duties of the presidency for the remainder of his term.
It’s the first time a US president has dropped out of a reelection run in decades, recalling memories of President Lyndon Johnson deciding against seeking a second full term in 1968 – though Biden’s decision comes months later in the campaign than Johnson’s announcement. It’s also the latest shocking development in a highly charged political campaign that has included an attempt on Trump’s life.

The democratic party has been working up to eliminating democracy within their nomination process for several cycles now. They should drop the act and call her the anointee.

I’m wondering what will happen at the convention next month. There’s already a lot of parallels between this year and 1968. They’re even holding the DNC in the same city.

The site was dead for a while but to no one’s surprise during the events of a week ago the most tolerant on DB were glorifying the assassination attempt and complaining the shooter missed and are still wishing death on people with political differences yet it is the other side that is radical. Are you saying big, rough old Trump that ‘joked’ that if Hillary legally repealed the second amendment gun owners should take extra judicial action against her is now such a fragile piss baby he needs you to protect his feelings against mean people suggesting he should be shot as well?

So according to you, swapping out candidates before the national vote is anti democratic, but the former President seeking absolute criminal immunity and getting it then campaigning for an end to term limits isn’t eroding the guard rails of democracy at all?

Well, the delegates are voting almost 2 weeks before the convention is scheduled. What then is the point of even having it? With all the other curve balls this election has thrown us who’s to say foregoing with a convention that’s been rendered meaningless by virtual voting all together isn’t on the table?

If he even said that and meant it sincerely. I’m used to his statements being interpreted creatively. The 22nd amendment has only existed since 1951, and the country did nothing but trend toward being more democratic without it. Senators were chosen by state legislatures until 1913. Presidents were chosen by electors until 1804. The franchise was expanded multiple times, and direct democracy was introduced in 1778 in the form of statewide referendums and has been expanded on in the form of ballot initiatives since then.
He doesn’t have absolute immunity, just immunity for official acts of office, which is why his hush money case is still going to sentencing in September, and the documents case was thrown out on grounds that had nothing to do with him being immune. Other countries, such as France, Germany, etc. that otherwise have stricter anti-corruption legislation than the U.S. have executive and legislative immunity on the books. The U.S. has had de facto presidential immunity the whole time, which is why W. and Obama never had any fear of consequences arising from the GWOT. Before this cycle, everybody understood that attempting to prosecute the opposition’s ex-presidents would make us a banana republic.
Yes, the democrats canceling state primaries to protect Biden, hiding his condition from the voters so that he wouldn’t face a real primary challenge, then throwing it all away to appoint their back-room replacement is a regression of democracy in favor of the machine politics that they prefer.

I assume they’re voting early in lieu of redoing the primaries, since the convention is just weeks away. It’s just a formality to (re)assign delegates who would have otherwise been distributed through elections, and they don’t have time to redo those.
The convention will still be held unless there is a very good reason not to. A massive event like that can’t just be canceled on a whim, given the effort they go through to organize it. And the fact that they’ve been holding them regularly for almost 200 years means it’s a long standing tradition which can’t be discarded just because.
Major party conventions have basically been coronation ceremonies since the 70’s. But they’re still useful because the candidates need to rally the party behind them just before campaigning for the general election begins in earnest.
But for Harris, having the convention is actually more important than usual. First, there was never a proper launch event for the Harris solo run and the convention could double as that. But more importantly, the most important thing Harris needs right now is for a bunch of well-respected figures within the party to go on a stage and gush over how much faith they have in her leadership. If there appears to be a consensus among the party’s leader that she’s the right candidate, the rank-and-file of the party will quickly accept it and dissent can be easily sidelined.
The 22nd amendment has only existed since 1951
It was an unwritten rule which persisted as a tradition since 1796, and it took an extremely popular president in a crisis to finally violate it.
Presidents were chosen by electors until 1804.
They still are. Are you thinking of the 12th amendment? That just changed the way the vice president was elected.
the guard rails of democracy
What guardrails? The Constitution has been riddled with bullet holes for years now and no one sincerely believes in it anymore except for cringe boomers in the hinterlands. “Democracy” just means letting the Democratic Party do whatever it wants, and we’ve all seen where that leads.

I meant the president was chosen by unbound electors before. Electors that acted on their own, rather than being tied by state-level popular votes.

>the country did nothing but trend toward being more democratic without it
So everyone having a vote and limited terms of office is less democratic than only land owning white men voting for eachother over and over again forever? Look if you want to return to aristocracy, just say it.
>just immunity for official acts of office
Which the supreme court didn’t define and in essence said that they will decide on a care by case basis whether a ‘president has acted with his office’ and considering the republicans have the majority of the judges and his appointments concurrent opinion signalling he plans to rubber stamp any thing Trump does it is de facto immunity so long as Trump continues to do favours for him.
>attempting to prosecute the opposition’s ex-presidents would make us a banana republic
Except Republicans don’t actually believe in that either with their attempts to try and squeeze evidence out of Hunter Biden in order to prosecute his father, it’s just that Trump the court proved rapist openly engages in easily proved crimes where as Joe seemingly doesn’t despite how many attempts to find something.
>throwing it all away to appoint their back-room replacement
Backroom? She’s the VP? Her stepping in because the President is too ill and senile to continue is her whole job. Unless you are a deligate of the DNC who they fount before the popular vote has nothing to do with you as they are a private company who can take whatever action they deem appropriate before their candidate is put on the ballot, plus those delegates have every chance to withdraw their support if they so choose and back someone else.
@Twiface
Where has that lead? To cringe wokescolds on tik-tok? Nothing has been going on under Biden, which is a problem in terms of dismantling Russia but Trump isn’t going to shit about that if he gets in.

Where has that lead?
Transgenderism being seen as something natural, normal and acceptable within society. Gay rights and marriage. Blacks, misbehaving ever chance they get with little to no repercussions. Blacks, queers and crossdressers being forced into every form of media and into all spaces. Rioting and looting. Spikes in crime. Cancel culture, where normal human beings are cancelled for being normal human beings by absolute freaks and undesirables. A mental health crisis along with a drug epidemic in the streets. The break-down of norms in favor of freakish prevision and degeneracy.
Children, being groomed into believing that all this is a normal and acceptable way of life.

Because your talking about some fantastical imaginary scenario divorced from the reality of the situation, when America was founded only the landed gentry had a say in how it was governed and few rules were needed as all the powerful dealt with conflicts through the old mechanisms of intrigue, as time went on and people began to liberate themselves more rules were needed to equalise the playing field between the powerful elite and the common worker to reduce the amount of influence the elite could exert on the system to get their way.
Your genius plan is to go back to the trust system and just expect the millionaires like Trump to just decided not abuse their power.
Trans people are 0.5% percent of the population, and that’s self ID mostly made up of white women who call themselves non binary lesbians despite never kissing another woman. Is your America so bitch made and cucked that it can’t cope with less than a million people being weird?
Plus the gender fad is wearing off on young people, everyone is doing it and it’s becoming cringe, it’ll be gone in five years. Plus people are sick of dogshit progressive media, when furries are mocking Disney you know it’s over.
Also cancel culture only effects the people it claims to protect, right wing people know being cancelled is a bump in profits and support from their own side, the only people that have been killed by hate mobs were left leaning mentality ill people and sex workers that broke rank, being cancelled only destroys your career if your customers care about you being cancelled.
The mental health crisis and drug epidemic is because you retards refuse to have a national health system and instead let private companies get everyone hooked on opiates to make them pay pigs instead of actually treating them, that is bipartisanship dumb fuckery.
TL;DR your making a big deal out of nothing over some losers that just need to be laughed at.

No, it’s actually just projection.

No, it has to be at least ten times that. I don’t know what survey you’re quoting from, but it has to be either outdated or disingenuous.

No, most of them are male ‘transbians’ addicted to anime.
