I found it on Instagram one day and just though: Yeah, this looks nice.
Then I started lookin for more and more art like this.
And I started to like more stuff, eventually it went from Ponies in sexy clothes -> Ponies in nice lingerie -> Explicit stuff

i think cloping to mlp is different from furrys yiff they do it for doing it i think we do it because we love the characters and what they are no matter if they are human or not i founded as away to express our deep love to the show in a platonic way

I didn’t “grow into it”. I watched the series premiere, saw Nightmare Moon and immediately thought “oh yeah. There’s porn of this horse out there”. And that I went looking for porn of that horse. And I found it. So much of it. That was a good day.

I’ve never really been given to introspection as to the whys of my attractions & fetishes. I pretty much just go wherever my boner takes me.

I used to hate cloppers because I thought they were creeps who made the fandom look bad. Then I became one, and I don’t even remember what got me into it.

I think the presence of humanized characters made me more comfortable with the idea of sexualizing MLP characters, and then it took off from there. That and pictures of ponies wearing clothing, which I find a lot more attractive than ponies without. I think clothing was what ultimately bridged the gap between humans and ponies for me.

Second, the ponies on the show are significantly anthropomorphized to the point that they look more like humnans than IRL horses. Their faces are very expressive in a humanlike way so there’s no ambiguity when you try to interpret how they feel towards you.

Another element that I sometimes see people mention is the fact that most of the characters in the show aren’t really in any established relationships. None of the Mane Six have boyfriends and most of the supporting and background characters don’t either, so there’s no guilt or shame in imagining yourself in a relationship with them. I always feel guilty when thinking about Cadance because I know she’s happily married, but there’s no such guilt in thinking of Twilight or Rarity because none of their love interests last.

Minds, and fantasies, deserve to be free. Sex-positive clopping for all! :)

It’s certainly been quite a journey, and casting off my faith was an uncomfortable experience, but I definitely don’t regret any of it (except that it didn’t happen sooner). Nothing beats being free to follow the truth wherever it leads, without the constraints imposed by presupposition and superstition. (And not having to feel guilty about my passion for pony porn is pretty awesome too!)

I’m taking notes on your mentions of artists. I’ve only just started trying to follow particular artists in a regular way, mostly on DeviantArt presently. If you’ve links to or titles for those two specific pieces you mentioned (by b-epon and Dimfann), I’d love to see them!

And oh, Pinkie. :D So many playful kitchen/food-related fantasies to be had with her at SCC (and in my headcanon she has a “special” section tucked away in her party planning cave specifically for such extracurricular activities. Gotta do something to burn off all that sugar, after all!)

I came into the fandom during season 6 of the show (I guess that means I would have been 24 at the time, since I’m 28 now). At the time, I was a Christian with traditional views on sexuality and porn, so I shunned the adult side of the fandom for a while. Eventually, however, my views began to change (and since then I’ve even become an atheist, albeit for reasons wholly unrelated to sexuality).

What actually got the ball rolling for my interest in clop was seeing one of b-epon’s pics of Twilight in heat. I don’t think I was totally okay with NSFW stuff yet at the time, but nevertheless I liked the pic so much that I later tried to find it on Derpibooru. Since I didn’t know who the artist was, I aimlessly browsed through countless explicit pics and stumbled across one of Dimfann’s gorgeous pics of Rarity (which is still one of my all-time favorites to this day). But even after this, I still hadn’t fully embraced my attraction to cartoon ponies.

That changed one night when I was laying in bed trying to sleep. I suddenly started having thoughts about getting intimate with Pinkie, and I gave in to the fantasy and… well… clopped. And I’ve basically been clopping ever since, except for maybe a few times that I tried to stop out of guilt imposed by my now-former religious beliefs. Now, I’m a bit too enthusiastic about MLP porn, and hardly a day goes by that I’m not checking Derpibooru Ponybooru or e621 for new art to enjoy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), and I even support a few of my favorite artists on Patreon.

I uploaded it anonymously, though I really can’t remember the exact reason why - it has been 9 years… Maybe I was afraid of uploading “horse porn”, or maybe because there were people screaming their heads off at others for even making porn and “dirtying” FIM with it in the first place.

Of course, I didn’t consider it weird for me. I was plenty aware of the idiotic societal views on anyone “abnormal”, bronies included. My thoughts were “nope, no way in hell am I telling anyone in RL I’m even a fan of FIM”, pretty much.

So, think about that - plenty of ponies sport lovely, luscious, long manes. (and tails. I wonder if those count.) And there’s plenty of pony pictures with lovely, detailed rears+hips.

Part of your attraction very well might be not because of the “exotic” factor, but the opposite - the biological signals you get from ponies are entirely compatible/comparable to what you’d get from humans.

You’ve really put a lot of deep thought into this!

I went through a similar thing, no attraction/desire. Then a slow overtime dissolution of my objections.

For me, and this may sound silly, I wasn’t attached to them in that way until I felt like I “knew” them, personality wise.

At some point, they went from “cute colorful equine” to “Adorkable Twilight”, to “Secretly Sexy Librarian Twilight”, if that makes sense?

Then one day a certain piece of art in particular, ‘Bad Oofy’ by DraconidsMXZ, got a hold of me and just would. not. let. go. It isn’t even technically explicit, but it beautifully captured a feeling that was so suggestive and arousing to me I simply couldn’t shake it.
