I think it’s just about “too much of a good thing isn’t good”. And it does clutter the UI.  
Also, the duck badge is something like a personal achievement for a lot of people. I kinda want one, but didn’t really get that involved with the community. I couldn’t really put it into words, but I could see someone being proud of being such a shitposter that the mods gave you your own badge

Duck badges are either fun as hell people or some of the worst people around. Usually they are fun. Badge creep is how some users have a fuckton of badges next to their name. IIRC, it got so bad it would crash pages at one point if a user with a lot of badges posted.

The only people I have seen get the duck badge are genuine assholes, spammers and usually just shitty people. But if your proud of that whatever floats your boat
