When time permits, I intend to have a rewrite of the rules, it’ll start by just removing superfluous information, and eventually an entire rewrite, seeing as we basically copy and pasted derpiboorus rules.
When we get to the full rewrite, we’ll consider changing policies, until then We arent likely to make any major rule changes.
I think a block button would be a good idea. And I’ll certainly forward that to our developer. Another route you can go is ask for it to be incorporated into philomena, the software that runs derpibooru as well as ponybooru and some additional ‘alt-boorus’. You can find the offical philomena github here: https://github.com/philomena-dev/philomena/
Edit: to clarify, if a block button were to be implemented, I dont think blocking people from seeing your art would be how it would be done. the block button, in my mind, would be solely to prevent user to user interaction, like comments, and private messages. I saw a bit of backlash on the chan thread about my comment here so thats why im editing. Im open to discussion or feedback on the idea of a block button. I was not aware there was controversy involving it.

EITHER:A) A statement in the rules stating that you should not demand a user stop replying to you or state that they should not comment on your art/thread.ORB) A block button in some way, shape or form. This was something in Derpibooru where the mods did, and continue to, flip-flop between letting users enforce who can comment and where and threatening to ban people for trying to say that. All the while there was now block button, and saying that a user should not comment on your art/thread and/or reply to you is an attempt to recreate that. And allowing some users to do this, not allowing other users to do this, and not making an actual block button are three things that mixed together TERRIBLY. And to make this less likely to happen here, we could use either of those features on here. Which ever one, I don’t care, but one or the other.
