i don’t think ponybooru should keep insisting on trying to be an archive site
not only because it’s the only altbooru that allows DNPs
at all thus defeating the point, but also because at this point it will only serve to alienate artists, there is no benefit whatsoever
ponerpics, and to a lesser extent twibooru, already have many images that ponybooru does not, users can simply go there to find artists that wish to not have their art hosted here
sure you can argue “why delete it from here if it’s already everywhere else anyway”, but that defeats the purpose of giving people the option to delete it in the first place, they want to delete it because they actually
can delete it
of course it becomes a grey area when it comes to people’s
OCs instead of their
art (or edits thereof) but when you have shit like
this being posted you have to realise there’s a line being crossed somewhere that ought to be drawn
sure it’s not
directly harmful but shit like this could cause a lot of stress for the person involved, and so i really think this “offense is taken not given” motto needs to die, or at least be interpreted differently
in my opinion, if something
could be interpreted as an intentional attack specifically directed at another person, and the person being attacked
actually reports it themselves, why not just respect their wishes? it’s not like it’ll happen very often anyway
i believe this site has merit compared to the other altboorus due to it actually having an active community (which is also all the more reason why artists would care about their art being here), but i’m concerned that if you continue this sort of behaviour it will only scare people - particularly artists - away
for what it’s worth,
i certainly would not have stuck around if i had no control over my own work here
