Republicans have the popular vote and the electoral vote and so a mandate from the American people to do what they promised to do. These are not people that hardcore watch Fox News but normal people and they’re tired of being ignored and insulted.

Passing Constitutional amendments requires so many supermajorities that it has to be a bipartisan issue to actually get anywhere.

Trump has never attempted to claim he can change the constitution because the system is designed to be self protecting and self repairing. He has however made claims that he will declare a state of emergency and suspend the constitution (Not that I think he has the balls to make such a move).
That said the only person to successfully do so was Lincoln during the Civil War and while others have attempted to do the same, they have been blocked by Congress each time.

After 5 days of waiting Nevada has joined the other 49 states in calling the election for Donald Trump, getting him to the 312 electoral votes we knew he would get last week. He also still holds the popular vote, the first time a Republican has done so since 2004.
