Every time I see responses to you I think someone’s responded to me.
 
Like claiming that their policy changes were due to community feedback, then creating seas of red text in their attempt to hide the fact that the feedback they were getting wasn’t coming from the DB community. Then trying to hide what they were doing by falsely marking deleted comments to make them look like off-topic conversations and rule violations. Then trying to hide that they were doing that when people started screencapping conversations to prove it by deleting any post containing screencaps of the wrongfully deleted comments. This online archive (that was supposedly never an archive even though they, themselves, called it one in the dumbass tweet that started it all) somehow couldn’t wrap its head around the idea that all this online activity would be archived.
 
Then there was making a new rule that you couldn’t leave negative feedback on images supporting their new pet issues–specifically BLM, Antifa and anything LGBT–and going so far as to add shadowfilters to people’s accounts to prevent them from seeing such images, ban marked users from commenting on images with the protected tags and even throttling people’s connections to the site to try to run them off without having to openly ban them (because even they realized “banned for using site functionality as intended” would make them look like retards).
 

 
So in short:  
They took a stance on an issue they knew little-to-nothing about that was irrelevant to the site, changed the site’s policies to match while claimed they made the decision based upon user feedback, implemented several underhanded tools to create the illusion of community support and then spent the next month attempting to silence actual community feedback on the matter. And when they got caught (and they got caught many, many times) the best rebuttal they could offer was “nuh uh” and more of the same activity paired with allegations of racism.

the short story is. someone called out to a news outlet that derpi had nazi art and supported nazi content or some shit. big shudder and they started to say they would censor it. well there was a push back from some mods and from some users on that. so they went back. and they got shit on by pro censorship types (those that wanted aryanne gone) well they went back and said they would censor and then the anti censorships slammed the other side. be engaging in any way. they fucked themselves. no matter what. they were going to lose people at that point. thats the short. im not going to get into the long of it.
 
its a year ago now. and its still bullshit that it happened at all. so much good art has been lost and good artists have moved on.

I wouldn’t call that censorship. if downvotes weren’t a thing, then maybe it would be. But those kinds of comments add nothing to the image or conversation. They just bloat the comment sections.

That’s what pissed me off the most about some of the choices made over others. Great images getting passed up by relatively unseen artists getting shafted because “muh cute pic”.

You ain’t the only one who feels this way. It really does boil down to retards who want to spew some of the dumbest diarrhea out of their mouths while screaming “BUT MUH FREE SPEEZH”. Mind you, I’m all for it. But there’s a time and a place for certain comments, and better ways to convey your ideas other than smashing on the keyboard and sprinkling insults into it.  
Even 4chan has posting standards. Something that some of these retards conveniently forget.

I saw it happen ALOT on flashimmer images. There were so many BPs commenting things like “(X) ship is better!” or “She belongs with Twilight!” it wasn’t funny.

I’m one of those people that’s into super hard digestion, but I know better then to try forcing my preferences onto others. If an artist doesn’t want to draw something or draws things I don’t like/agree with, then that’s fine. They’re the artist, I’m just the viewer. It pisses me off whenever I see anyone do that kind of thing, regardless of what they’re asking for. It’s almost the same mentally that “Karens” have, being so entitled that they stop caring about everyone else. Not only that, but they never add anything to the conversation.

no I had a personal autist. he used to stalk my art with anon comments. under the guise that he had alot of followers who would go out and shit on artists that were not him.
 
In reality hed make multiple accounts and go bother people until he got bored (he’d also make sure to upvote all his art every time he did this and downvote all of mine I imagine). he was really mad at me cause I did a fetish he liked better then him (reality is I payed money for nice models and surprisingly I didn’t feel like sharing said models with the likes of him.) haven’t seen him in years at this point.

to be fare. that anon was being a dick. and i think this is less a comment on “all derpi mods were bad” and more of a issue of a few of them being bad. tsp being the worst of the bunch. granted i thought he was fine until about a week ago. I considered derpi one of my fav sites before tsp dropped the ball and all this censorship shit came about.
 
most of the time if i saw a deleted comment i knew it was either a anon bitching or someone that most likely deserved it. I also was a strong believer in duck badges cause if someone had one they were really fucked up to talk to. (like viper bits who i still to this day do not like :) his fav thing was going on vore pics and talking about how he wish there was realistic or visible digestion with blood guts and disintegrating ponies into detailed acid or some other fucked up shit) He used to bitch about his duck badge cause people would use it as an excuse to not take his seriously or say they are going to ignore him (wonder why) he got stuck with a fresh one after trying to make a new account to dodge it.
 
at the end of the day people here are bitching about the mods shit list and how they regulate the site but the way i see it if they are hiding comments that are just bitching at artists and not offering actual constructive criticism then… why are you commenting? if you only downvote art pieces because they contain a specific tag then you should filter it and shut up. i know im not agreed with probably over all of this but at the end of the day. alot of us artists don’t have “thick skin” our art runs on our emotions and when random anons come out of the wood work to insult us and downvote our work just cause it contains a fetish they don’t like it can lead to some of us leaving outright.
 
i don’t know if it will remain true in the wake of recent events but if you asked me a week or two ago i’d say that derpi booru is my home site and the only place i truly felt confortable being. but I was on the mods good sides (had like 4 or 5 friends that were mods at one time or another) … end of the day if you ask me whether the chat should be filled with all comments. id say no. I do believe some should be deleted cause some will be blatantly trying to attack artists and others will be people with nothing better to do then try to get a rise out of people… and then others are fucken weirdos. Had someone make an account named “tektite is a n-word (only the actual word)” rapid posting across my work once whos comments got completely deleted once. (was epic kitty/mod24 if you know who that is)

I liked derpi and how it was run and your not going to be able to change much of my opinion on that. comment censoring and duck badges were a thing i liked. not reading peoples comments on why someone was a shitty artist suits me just fine. or other kinds of abuse. were in the pony fandom. theres no reason to be a dick.(or a duck ;3)
