Speaking of flip phones, My first phone was a flip phone. I got it in August 2009. I still use it. Next year Verizon is cancelling their 3G and I'm going to have to get a new one, but they said the same thing last year and I'm still here.

I know NOTHING
VHS are accident technology at this point.
Floppy Disks…
Super Nintendo…
Me The scariest part of this post is that I was raised with and used a lot of old technology growing up, the SNES was older then me even in the period I felt nostalgia for it.

Watched it, on Discovery Family in fact.

Which reminds me, the Hub, it launched over ten years ago.

@Havoc
I love the original theme of it.

I still saw them in some laptops models pretty often till 2016/2017, but yes. Shame too considering DRM subscription themes. I still use optical disc and floppies quite regularly.

I take it you forgot the securom and starforce aka "kernel spyware drive-destroying DRM". And the requirement to have the disk in the drive to play even though all the data is stored.

I don't play many games, but yeah that was still a problem. I should not have used the wording, 'DRM', just subscription schemes. What I was thinking of was consumer software. I have programs that my father got in the 1990s and early 2000s that I installed later on newer machines from discs and still make use of. The switch to full online capacity was the nail in the coffin for control and access of programs like, photoshop, video software, etc.

HEY YOU GUUUUUUYS!!!
@TheBridge
I miss the NES sometimes. Then I remember all the trouble it had and all the missing time from lightheadedness as a result of blowing out cartridges and I don't miss it as much.

@Barhandar
I ordered one along with the other parts for my PC, then had to order an external one when I realized that the thing doesn't even have a slot for it. Which was particularly annoying since the files for my motherboard actually came on a disk.

Well for one I didn't even notice until we were done putting it together. And since I don't put it together alone, and didn't really feel like calling up the person who helped me and asking them to come back over so we could open it back up & jury-rig the CD tray for five minutes, I just went with ordering a cheap external unit.

Besides: now I have one for the future if I need it.
