The new changes completely block certain accounts from being accessed by the API and it makes scraping impossible and archival much more annoying to complete.

That’s an unfair comparison. When Tumblr banned porn, all of the artists ceased using it but a lot of them were already on Twitter because it was popular despite its technical shortcomings regarding image quality. Thus, migrating was actually not all that painful. If Twitter bans porn, where is everyone going to go? Further, do you want to argue that Twitter wouldn’t be better off without most of those former Tumblroids on there?

My problem with twitter isn’t the people from tumblr, it’s elon musk being objectively worse at running the site than the previous owners. Before a panel of assholes decided on what the rules were and there were, however crappy, constraints on their power, now there’s a single asshole with unlimited power running things according to his whim.

Probably they had a marked up database of nsfw accounts there. But if it was the case, some accounts that would’ve been blocked too, bur they aren’t as of now. Wonder how they did so, I don’t imagine them scraping the remaining accounts MANUALLY after they’ve went ballistic with this blockade.
It looks irregular and sporadic and doesn’t make much sense.
