Description

This is one I’ve been sitting on for about a month now, waiting for a good time to upload it…that being, when the second part was ready to go, of course.
I call this little two-parter Tale of Chivalry, and it’s a very simple but cute scenario.
When you’re a bard, while you can get up to all kind of adventures with trouble, monsters, maidens and friendship, the most important part is recording it all down for posterity. When it comes time to write the legends and sagas, ballads and sonnets, it’s much simpler to draw the audience in when you can paint a larger-then-life picture of every important detail and grandiose locale. :3
But of course, it’s a bit gouache for a storyteller to write about themselves in such a way, so bards rarely recount the stories of their own travels…
…well, not in the Epics they contribute to Equestria’s rich tapestry of Legends anyway. Stories about the bards themselves tend to be compiled as erotica that they use to make themselves a bit more gold to fund their journeys. X3
At any rate, Sandbar happened upon a young aspiring knight around his age in his wanderings, and they’ve spent the last few weeks adventuring together. Still being an Aspirant he hasn’t been given too much in the way of equipment or a squire yet, just the basics, a tabard and the Nobility and Honour of Equestria to bare wherever he goes…so to have a supportive and helpful assistant is an asset. A friend even more so. :)
It seems tonight after they made camp, Sandbar decided to start writing down his tale as well, interviewing him about his quests and accomplishments. Nothing too grand, in the Aspirant’s estimation…humility is a virtue of a noble knight after all, and especially for one so young and modest. Naturally his bard is taking a little liberty to embellish the story a little, as well as compliment how handsome he is. ;)
He looks so bashful too, the poor lad! Don’t worry, Sandbar will skip over the part about him being an adorable little muffin during the final draft…or at least rewrite it in such a way that it will make the mares swoon for him. XD
