It could be “real” in the sense that it’s an actual functional sword made from heat treated steel and capable of cutting, but very poorly balanced by being very blade heavy towards the tip. Basically a guillotine with a handle.

If that’s a real sword, it weighs about five pounds. She’d have to be about as strong as a chihuahua to be struggling with it that much.
