I’ve been updating Movie Slate in a relatively consistent fashion for almost a year, and somehow never uploaded a single one of those panels over here on DeviantArt. I never claim to be the sharpest tool in the shed, but even for me this was a pretty dull move. From this point on I’ve decided to upload at least one or two pictures every week, most from those updates I actually feel pretty good about.

Jokes involving movie formats are very enjoyable to draw.

Wes Anderson is one of the most consistent and yet unique film-makers out there. You know how sometimes you feel in the mood for a light, fluffy but clever movie? Wes Anderson’s entirely filmography is essentially that. From “The Royal Tenenbaums” to “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, Wes Anderson’s movies are…how to put it in a silly way? They’re the most movies that any movie has ever movied. If that makes sense to you. Wes Anderson always puts character first and then builds a whole world around them, populated with beautifully obvious miniatures, pastel costumes and colorful personalities, creating a fable out of any story he tells.

Wow. Looking at his filmography, I just realized that I’ve never seen a Wes Anderson movie. He’s such a name that I just thought I would have.
