I remember my last attempt to deal with Ciaran. It was literally just me explaining my issues with him so that he understood them all quite clearly, and could work through them with me. I made a message that would make @Zaknel look like a dwarf next to a 7’0” man in comparison. All because it was so elaborate in explaining the details and so deliberately redundant, so as to try and get the point across better, that it wound up that long. And he still did not get the point.
Have not spoken to him since.
Obviously, not relevant here, but I thought that was interesting and that you might like to hear that story.

Yeah so we can see the art they don’t want posted here for mostly petty reasons but mainly for lulz because it’ll cause butthurt amongst derpi/twitter people. Actually it’ll help with artists that leave the fandom and decide to nuke all their stuff, they won’t be bothered renewing it, so we can see and preserve their art here. But we still technically do dnps so they cant winge about muh copyright or whatever stupid argument. Not that just totally ignoring DNPs has gone poorly for twibooru. But maybe that’s also because noone cares about twibooru. As for annoying twitter artists add some randomness to the expiration date too so they cant set a reminder / time based script and keep any “time left” readouts vague for max funny. Also will make us less like derpi and more our own thing in a way. A personnel tuche :^ )

EDIT: discussed with the team. Not viable due to the sensitive information we have to be able to share among us. Making those discussions public would just make us retreat somewhere else when dealing with sensitive information. Transparency is a double edge sword, we still actively working to make changes in areas we can to allow for more transparency where possible.
I will give you that. Sometimes, information needs to be kept quiet. But that can only go so far before people start getting concerned about how much you are hiding.

#2 - Title is a bit ambiguous at a glance. “Are you talking about my metadata? Just what data are you harve-oh.” Maybe “Content Metadata” instead.
#2 b1 - A list of the rating tags, with brief descriptions and links to their main descriptions, would be preferable here.
#2 b6 - A note about source quality would be appreciated here; a link directly to a raw image is useless, while a link to a tweet containing is perfect. A sub-bullet like:

#1 b7 - Remove the “at this time”. If Audio-only content is allowed in the future, change the rule and announce then. But whenever “at this time” is added to any rule it just invites unnecessary calls to change, “when is this happening?” questions, etc. It’s not necessary.
#1 b10 - I’m a pirate, but I’ll always defend site policy in opposition; your site, your rules. If discussion of piracy is allowed, as long as it is not facilitating the act (merit/moral discussion, etc.), then I would recommend expanding this bullet to something similar to this (additions underlined):

And yeah, more and more carriers are blocking 4chan. Can usually be “fixed” by setting a more open DNS server, but you might have to root for that (assuming in context you’re talking about T-Mobile as mobile, as opposed to home internet). But, as usual, don’t stress. Life first, horse board later.

Zippy has experience with the Philomena software that runs the booru. During the early days of the sites launch, zippy was willing to lend a helping hand and get us on our feet. While we are significantly established and familiar with the tools, he still holds the unofficial title of consultant. His inclusion in this picture is not indicative of mod status, but more or less friends of the staff. Does that make sense?
If I put so and so’s oc next to or in the staff group, does that mean the are actual staff? No its just happenstance. Sorry about this confusion. I can see where you all are coming from.
It should also be noted, zippy does have access to the mod tools, both for consultant purposes and as a back up moderator. HOWEVER, hidden/inactive mods are not permitted to use said tools and are subject to immediate termination for any discovery of said tools. The only exception, being illegal content that requires immediate intervention such as Child pornography. Our policy is immediate deletion, ban of user(s) involved, and forwarding of any relevant information to authorities. If zippy wishes to become active at any time they are required to become listed on the staff list. The decision to hide inactive staff, is to allow them to use the site without expectation of staff responsibilities. If someone has a staff title, users may attempt to message them for support and giving support while not acting in the capacity of a staff member is against our internal moderation polices. A more detailed moderation policy will be made written and made public following the completion of the rule rewrite. This will take time as I have a full time job and must balance that, ponybooru and free time.
I’ll leave that up to zizzy to explain as thats personal and not relevant to our moderation, but all moderators, myself and zizzy included are subject to the rules and moderation policy. I have no problem banning zizzy for rule violations or rampant mod abuse should it come to that, and I expect the same in return. I trust that zizzy or any of my staff will step down, whether permanently or temporarily if they believe they cannot moderate in a capacity inline with our rules and policy.
Offense is taken not given. If you have a problem with an individual, zizzy included, tell them and try to work it out at the lowest level before escalating it to a report. If you believe it has gone beyond an off handed comment and devolved into targeted harassment , report it and another moderator will investigate. Mods are not permitted to audit themselves when reported by another use. We will ask their side of the story, but decision making is not permitted for the accused staff involved.
If there are any other questions or you need clarification please dont hesitate to ask. Again, to reiterate, the moderation policy will be written when I can find the time.
