Owen is an albino Diamond Dog that was found by Fluttershy in her chicken coup during a heavy stormy night. Owen was found malnourished, scared, and displaying multiple injuries on his body. Founded under one of the hens for warmth, Fluttershy was almost about to cry from heartbreak at a young puppy in such a terrible condition.

Fluttershy without a second thought took him in nourished him back to health. Or at least try. It was strenuous, he was sick frequently, had terrible eyesight even with all the dirt removed, and he was only three months old. However, it got better, after three months he was able to run his eyesight was still a little poor, since he crashed a lot on furniture, but he kept running for exercise. After one more month, at seven months old, his jaw got stronger and could form sentences Fluttershy allowed him to eat small bits of gems for nutrition.

Owen was overly cautious, he never left Fluttershy’s side, and when Fluttershy was gone he would dig a ground large enough for him to fully cover himself. He has PTSD as the sound of howling absolutely terrifies him. He must’ve had encounter Timber wolfs during his time in the forest as a puppy. Even as an adult his cautious, he lets his nails grow as he deems them as a form to defend himself against any possible threat. At five years old, his considered a grown-up by Diamond dogs standards. His jaw is not as strong as normal dogs due to his albinism, so instead of breaking rocks for gems he mostly just buys them.

He’s Fluttershy’s assistant and helps with the heavy work with the larger animals.

Info about Diamond Dogs in my headcanon

So! In my head, Diamond dogs are subterranean Canine’s that live in packs. There are carnivores, but most of their nutrition comes from the rocks and gems that they find in caves. They have a complex society where females are the pack leaders of about ten other Dogs. The leader is decided by physical strength and bite force. They are very territorial and absolutely despise non-pack dogs or creatures to get closer to their homes. ( Almost like Hyenas)

Diamonds dogs come in a variety of dog types from small to big, yet contain their appearance of being able to stand on their hind dog legs or walk on all fours, their giant front paws with long nails are like shovels for digging. Their jaw, which tends to be an overbite, can have an incredible bite force to bite through rocks and gemstones or large sizes. Their jaw is a very important look for them, the stronger the jaw the more appealing.

Diamond Dogs have litters of three as the maximum, all Diamonds Dogs are dark colors to blend at night and in caves, and on odd occasions, they have very light pups. Normally they wait a few weeks for the coloration to go down, but when it doesn’t they discard the pups far away from the home. They believe that golden pups (such as Owen) bring bad luck since they are easily spotted. It doesn’t often but it happens.
