Nickname(s): Acapella Melrose Apple (full name), Pelly Age: 12 Birthday: January 30 Parents: Coloratura and Applejack Siblings: Pristine Melody (older sister) Future Spouse: Fire Opal Children: Banded Jasper (future daughter) Personality:
Acapella Apple was born a bundle of nerves, but is sweeter than peach tea on a hot Appleoosan day. She’s often found fussing over one thing or another to no foreseeable end, not stopping to think about the positive outcomes and possibilities. Despite her own faults and lack of confidence, she’s a wonderful, supportive friend and is deeply emotional. Pelly expresses a lot of her repressed emotions through her music and writing, inspiring all who hear it even though most have no idea she’s the one behind it. Relationships:
Like any Apple, Pelly is very close with her parents. While Applejack and Rara are both much more outgoing than her, they respect her boundaries and are good about not pushing her beyond her limits. While she gets a lot of her musical abilities from Rara, she spends the most time with Applejack, on the farm, where it’s quiet.
As a singer/songwriter duo, it is no surprise that Mel and Pelly are a close pair of sisters. Pelly helps Mel write the songs that make her such a star, helping both sisters bond over their shared love of music. However, the more-extroverted Mel has suggested that Pelly reveal herself to her fans and make her talent known, which makes the poor filly’s heart race just thinking about it. She’s fine with the way things are.
While Pelly has a lot of fears, Fire Opal the dragon is not one of them. At the massive Apple/Pie family reunions, Pelly usually finds herself in the background, unnoticed and ignored until it’s time to go home. Despite her size, Fire Opal is also ignored and lonely. Even worse, she feels treated like a pet more than anything. While the two are as different as can be in size and species, Pelly and Fire Opal have a lot to bond over. They have become very close friends indeed. Cutie Mark:
The hat on Pelly’s flank symbolizes her strong connection to the Apple family who supports her and the farm that is her place of refuge, as well as her down-to-earth nature. The quill represents her way with words, especially as she expresses herself through songwriting.
