I originally said that I wasn’t going to bother designing parents or any other family members of my main oc, Pixel Codec. But in the end, I ended up making a cousin, Onyx Lighthoof, and then recently thought of some story/lore ideas for Pixel that involves his dad and well here we are now. He has both parents still alive and well, but I’m gonna focus on the dad for now. _{Totally not because I have the hots for mature dad stallions}

I’ve not thought of a name yet but will update the description and tags once I got one. Pixel and his father never had a good relationship. His father was often busy, and the few times that he was free, he tried to have some father-son time with Pixel which didn’t end very well. He would often get upset at how Pixel seemed to keep getting distracted by things or being very quiet. How he wasn’t being a proper stallion. Pixel wasn’t trying to mean any harm, his father just didn’t understand his neurodivergent and introverted mindset and way of being. His opinions and slightly strict way of lifestyle made Pixel keep secrets from him, especially about his bi-curiosity as he was scared that his father would retaliate against him.

After Pixel moved out, he cut out almost all ties and conversations with his dad, only having the very rare, once or twice a year phone calls. But he never felt comfortable being close to him. Pixel’s mother and father eventually divorced due to on-going arguments that they had ever since Pixel was a young teen, and got worse when Pixel moved out. Once that was done and he was out of the house, he started to rethink what he has done and his way of thinking after lapsing into a deep depression.

His love for his wife slowly faded away, he accepted that it wasn’t meant to be. But one thing that kept bothering him was how he treated Pixel. His son kept popping into his mind. With his heart softened up, he realized all the mistakes he’s made, he was gutted for what he has done and he still loved Pixel deeply. With this realization he started to work his way up, out of his depression and working out his way of thinking and his physical health. He wasn’t sure if getting back to Pixel was gonna work, but he really wanted to try. Especially as he also wanted to meet his grandaughter, Aurora.
