Serendipity is a 36 year old earth pony mare originally from Ponyville, but now living and working in the rural edge of Trottingham as an author. Quiet, studious, understated, and unassuming, she is regarded as a nice mare by many of those that meet her on her little sojourns through the city.

She is an up and coming name within the ranks of famous authors in Equestria, specialising in writing and publishing compilations of short stories that are designed to make you feel some kind of way. Serendipity is well known to like making very emotionally charged works, as she mentioned in her above statement to the Bureau’s agent.

Physically tall and long of limb, for an earth pony, Serendipity admits that while she is generally fit and reasonably healthy for her age, she does have a tendency to binge eat when her depression gets the better of her. Naturally, she is medicated and has a state-funded therapist to help her in the more difficult times- additionally, she does exercise regularly these days to offset any weight gain.

However, it should be stated here that Serendipity has a permanent and notable limp in her left foreleg, the root of which was a badly broken bone and damaged muscles and ligaments from a past accident. Unfortunately magic was unable to fully repair the injury, but Serendipity doesn’t seem hugely affected by this and gets about well enough despite it.

Serendipity’s depression is of a treatment-resistant nature, and has been with her since her late childhood. It is noted that Serendipity had a calm, and loving childhood with no trauma of any kind. Numerous attempts have been made over the years to get to the bottom of it, but nopony has yet succeeded. Despite all this, Serendipity keeps writing and compiling books of her short stories that are generally seen as “compact, yet compelling reads.”

Her home is a large and tastefully-decorated “Romanesque” villa that is bordered by neighbouring and extensive apple and pear orchards that are almost solely dedicated to making hard cider. This is where she lives with her beloved ex-sailor husband, Ocean Stride, and their young neuro-divergent son, Thornheart.

Outside of her own family, she has two professional “live-in” grounds keepers/caretakers employed specifically to maintain her villa and it’s ornamental gardens, and it’s well stocked fish pond filled with the Equestrian equivalent of Koi Carp.

When it comes to more personal matters, Serendipity is, as is to be expected, heterosexual- and will only consider her husband as a sexual partner.
