Brony is a 15 year old Pegasus pony who just relocated to Ponyville, Equestria from Windcrest (a fictional city in California). He is introverted and a bit standoffish, part of that stemming from his tragic past. His father was an alcoholic, favoring drinking with his friends over his wife and child. He would often abuse Brony and his mother physically and mentally. When Brony was seven, his parents finally divorced and his mother took Brony and they relocated to Windcrest. Although he was grateful that his mother took him out of that situation, he wasn’t happy that he had to start a new life in Windcrest. He missed his old house, his friends, his teachers, and his school. Now, he and his mother had to live in a tiny apartment in a crime-infested area of the city. Entering second grade was one of the worst things Brony had to go through. Humans made up 99% of the entire school. Back in Equestria, Brony made friends left and right. In Windcrest, he was scared of making friends and was even bullied because he wasn’t a human. Even the teachers bullied him! He was beaten, whipped, yelled at, stolen from, and the principal did nothing to stop it! In fact, he only made things worse by claiming that Brony had no place at the school because he was a “pet”. When Brony was hospitalized as a result of a failed suicide attempt, his mother sued the school district, arguing that the school was anything but a safe haven and nearly cost Brony his life. A few weeks later, things began to turn around. Once he was discharged from the hospital, he was transferred to a different school in another district. There, he was greeted every morning with big smiles from his teacher and classmates. He was no longer scared of going to school and began to make friends. One of these new friends was his best friend, Pega, who just moved to Windcrest with her parents in order to stay closer to her brother, Taris, who was in college at the time. Brony and Pega had a very close friendship. They were having playdates every single weekend, they ate lunch together, they even sat next to each other in class! When Brony was fourteen and entering high school, Pega asked him if he was interested in joining the YouTube Crusaders, a group led by her brother. He was very skeptical at first since he never even met her brother, but after a bit of thought, he agreed. They were a vigilante-like group trying to keep YouTube safe from “cringe” content. After about a year, Brony didn’t think it was fun. He didn’t like bullying younger YouTube users and abusing them, seeing as how he himself was bullied and abused when he was little. He has expressed his desire to leave the group to Taris, but he didn’t take it too well. In fact, he threatened that he would ruin his life and his mother’s life as well. Upon hearing this, he attempted to escape his house, but Taris stopped him before he could leave. He even kidnapped him by holding him for ransom for a week before his mother got worried and called the cops. When Brony was finally freed, he knew that this was the final straw and had to get out of Windcrest. He urged his mother to move them out of Windcrest back to Equestria, but she declined, saying that they didn’t have enough money to move back to Equestria. A few days later, Brony saw an advertisement for Princess Twilight’s School of Friendship. The school was tuition-free, but getting transportation to Equestria was going to be quite a lot, so Brony decided to make money by filming himself reviewing real world media artifacts. After he got a decent amount of money, Brony finally decided it was time to leave Windcrest to start a new life. He said his goodbyes to his mother and headed off to Equestria.
