backstory: Jade is half Pegasus, half bat pony. she inherited her wings from her mother, Tulip Feather, and her slitted pupils and fangs from her father, Crescent Shield. she is the twin sister of Sun Jewel. Jade grew up in Hollow Shades, a community of predominantly bat ponies. because she’s half blooded, she was bullied a lot as a filly, more so than her sister because she looks more like a Pegasus than a bat pony. as a teenager, she would make her bullies fight her, which she would usually win, and pretty much ended the bullying altogether. she learned not to take anyone’s crap, and that some ponies are just going to be mean for no good reason. she doesn’t believe violence is a good solution, though, and tries to fighting unless she thinks it’s the only way to stop someone. she is kind of aggressive though, and can be very intimidating. she is also a little rude, and tends to blurt out whatever’s on her mind. she is quite stubborn too, and will argue with anyone who disagrees with her. she’s actually much more intelligent then she seems, and enjoys being around other ponies and making friends. jade’s talent is botany, the study and care of plants. she works in a botany lab with a group of several other ponies. they study, breed, and grow rare plants, as well as travel to find new species. she got her cutie mark when she tended a garden with her mother to help her be more calm and realized how much she enjoyed it. the lab is located near the smokey mountains and white tail woods. Jade lives in an apartment in Los Pegasus and commutes on the train to the lab.
