Rainbow Dash and Soarin are deployed by Spitfire as a 2-pony recon team, with orders to investigate reports of a monster lurking in an Equestrian jungle area. Spitfire gave direct orders to NOT engage any creature.
 
As the two pegasi fly over the jungle area, Rainbow Dash spots a skeletal being that fits the description, and it seems to be walking in the direction of a nearby village. Although they have orders to not engage, they cannot help but feel the need to divert the attention of the monster toward a different direction.
 
Soarin decides to get the attention of the beast and lead it toward an uninhabited area, and then fly back to base to report. Rainbow Dash suspects that dealing with the monster isn’t going to be that easy, and climbs to a higher altitude to gain the diving energy needed for a possible counterattack against the monster.
 
As Soarin gets close, he is spotted by the monster, but as he flies away, the monster unexpectedly flies off the ground by unknown means and begins charging at Soarin. Rainbow Dash dives in with all her might, and lands a hoof into the skull of the monster, with the force to spike it into the ground like a buckball. Rainbow Dash quickly flies toward Soarin, grabs his hoof, and flies them both beyond visual range of the monster.
 
After making certain they are not being tailed by the monster, the two shaken pegasi fly back to base and report their findings to Spitfire.
 
Neither of them mention the part where they disobey orders.
