Recently got around to provide these guys with colours. Just ‘cuz. Although I draw their comics in black and white, it’s still nice to have some colours to them too.These are what I consider the core cast of Lazy Company, that I draw for mh47e. The first characters put together and the main focus of the comics. More characters got added later, but most feels like extras and such.
I put the designs together, Clear Skies made the names I simply gave them faces. Clyde and Cause had colours in my head after I created them the first day. Dale and Effect was far more difficult to figure out a colour scheme for though.
Especially Effect I had to fight to not give same colours as my old OC Skye Gazer. For some reason she keeps pop up in my head when I try to colour Effect, even though all they got in common is the mane style. Effect is nowhere near as bad tempered as Skye Gazer, nor any near as heavy.
Character-wise Dale is the one changed the most. In this first drawing of him, I just wanted a gruff, no-nonsense dude and straight-man for the jokes. But some comics you might see from following the updates on Roan on its site or twitter, you’ll see the change. Being more silly and much more of a flirt than originally planned. But I ain’t complaining.Got more refs to share, as the cast is still growing. But wanted to share these ones first, since I also put up Nurse Engel’s ref right after I finished designing her.
These guys are fun to work with, ink and all. More shall be shared with them, in time.Enjoy!
