Story - Pay It or Rent It! Sunset’s Confident Choice!
 
Summary: Sunset Shimmer plans on staying at the Stadium Hotel in Miami Gardens (or “Miami” as a term, as Applejack calls it despite the difference between the two cities) with Applejack. However, when they enter the hotel, Sunset is left with a choice on whether she should pay or rent herself and Applejack a room they can share together for the night.
 
Applejack was walking throughout a city in Florida called Miami Gardens, alongside fellow friend, Sunset Shimmer. The two have been walking for an hour, until they saw a building that stands before them.
 
“Man, I have never thought I’d end up in this city.” Sunset Shimmer told Applejack, never being used to visiting Miami Gardens before.
 
“This place is called Miami Gardens, but I prefer calling it “Miami”, because this city has been reminding me for Miami itself.” Applejack ends up mistaking Miami Gardens for Miami despite not being the same cities.
 
“Wait, so why are Miami and Miami Gardens so familiar?” Sunset Shimmer asked Applejack, feeling unsure why others believe Miami and Miami Gardens would be the same two cities.
 
Applejack jokingly told Sunset Shimmer, “I think it was because the garden was meant to be in Miami, but instead they placed the garden in Miami Gardens instead.”
 
“I get it now!” Sunset Shimmer laughed at Applejack’s comment between Miami and Miami Gardens as the “same cities” in Florida. “So we’re visiting Miami Gardens, but this is mistaken for Miami. How funny!”
 
“Yeah, I doubt that.” Applejack agreed not even stopping herself from calling Miami Gardens as “Miami”.
 
“Anyways, let’s go inside this hotel.” Sunset Shimmer told Applejack, as she prefers letting the topic about Miami and Miami Gardens slide and go inside the Stadium Hotel. “I have a room for us both for the night.”
 
Inside the Stadium Hotel, Applejack and Sunset meet the manager at the lobby so they can have a room they share can together, since they are friends.
 
“Are you… sharing a room with this pony?” The manager named Klaus asked Sunset Shimmer, as he looked confused about whether it is true that Sunset Shimmer is sharing a room together with Applejack.
 
“Oh, sure I am.” Sunset Shimmer replied, as she was feeling confident that she is staying at the hotel with a room to share with her friend, Applejack.
 
“I’m cool with that, and can’t disagree.” Applejack agreed with Sunset’s words, briefly having her hat not on her head and placed it back on her head. “Sometimes it’s like being in a room where you spend time with a friend in a hotel together for the night!” She added, stating that having a friend like Sunset Shimmer and sharing a room together inside a hotel would be more fitting than the other way around.
 
However, the manager asked Sunset Shimmer, “Are you two paying yourselves a room or the other around?”
 
“We are renting ourselves a room.” Sunset Shimmer said in a gentle voice, and the manager would walk with them so he can help pick a room for them that has not yet been taken already.
 
“I can’t help imagine that this is the first time I have ever been in a hotel, Applejack.” Sunset Shimmer told Applejack as they walked down through the hallway.
 
Applejack laughed over the part that she and Sunset Shimmer are staying at the hotel for the night and couldn’t even believe what it would be like without her friend. “I’m always liking it when you share a room with a friend you’ve known a while now.” Applejack replied back.
 
Shortly thereafter, the two ponies and Klaus reached the second, with the manager choosing Room 203 for Applejack and Sunset Shimmer. “Enjoy the night, and have a great time together.” He told the two ponies before he walked away and return to his lobby and see other guests coming later on.
 
Sunset Shimmer walked into the room first and Applejack walking behind her, and Sunset Shimmer closed the door with her magic.
 
“Gosh darn, this bed’s so comfy and warm!” Sunset Shimmer got up on her bed and felt the blanket so fluffy and even with the pillows. “Oh, don’t you believe this is gonna be a good night, darling?” She asked Applejack.
 
“Right you are, Sunset.” Applejack said, lying down on her bed and looked at Sunset Shimmer. “This place is like nothing compared to the hotel that Rarity once was staying in.” She said further, finding the Stadium Hotel different from the time when Rarity stayed at a hotel in Manehattan.
 
Sunset Shimmer, upon hearing Applejack mention “Manehattan”, asked with a suspicious look on her face, “What is that place?”
 
“Oh, that’s where several ponies live at, such as Miss Pommel, Coloratura, Songbird Serenade, my aunt, my cousin, Babs Seed, Mr. Stripes and Plaid Stripes.” Applejack told Sunset Shimmer about the place where some of her relatives and friends are from.
 
“I do wish I’d go there one day.” Sunset Shimmer said, never visiting Manehattan a single time in her life since she is more often in the human world.
 
“If only it was possible…” Applejack said just as she started sleeping underneath her blanket.
 
Sunset Shimmer somehow didn’t believe in her, knowing that there’s still a chance she can see Manehattan the next time she visits Ponyville again. Nevertheless, she slept and remained silent for the night and hoping she can keep in touch with Applejack more as she does in the human world.
