heartthrob spent the better part of his entire life coveting the wings that everyone else important to him seemed to have.  
he resented his older sister for being raised as the true heir to the crystal empire. it was only because she was an alicorn, wasn’t it? had he been born first, he’d have those wings.  
he resented his younger sister for getting the wings he should have gotten in the first place. he missed it - he was born too EARLY, now. she got so much attention from mom during those flight lessons.  
he tried really hard not to resent his girlfriend for having them. she made him happy - something not many others could do. but every time they touched him, every time she stretched them out and all her pretty feathers could be seen in full view, every time she had to leave and she took flight… every time, it hurt more than the last.
