this is what I imagine the endgame for “the pink grub AU” I’ve been talking about on Tumblr to be. Luna is the one who advocates for Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis’s release. After realizing it wasn’t fair for her to be trapped in the moon, isolated from society for a 1,000 years, and that trapping the legion of doom in stone for eternity isn’t fair either (especially Cozy who was a child). She realizes her self worth and in turn advocates for the Legion to be released from stone and have a chance at reform. After Tirek refuses redemption and is sent back to his homeland free from stone but still a prisoner, Cozy and Chrysalis instead choose to try to be reintroduced into society.
 
Luna then becomes a sort of guardian to the two, knowing what it was like to be young and angry, like Cozy, and empathizing with Chrysalis, a leader who also made mistakes and had to earn back the trust of her people.
 
Which after a while leads to this scene! Not sure how much more content I’m going to make for this AU but it’s been fun so far, and it satisfies my need for the last villains of MLP FIM to get a more staisfying ending than just “welp they’re just stone forever I guess”.
