If anyone is unaware, Leiji Matsumoto is a creator of manga and anime from the 70’s -80’s including such works as Galaxy Express 999, Space Battleship Yamato, the Captain Harlock series, and most recently the Interstella 5555 for Daft Punk. I didn’t discover Matsumoto’s works until later in my drawing career, so my art isn’t much influenced by his work, but I absolutely adore the way he drew women so tall, slender, and otherworldly beautiful. Anytime I think about the 70’s, an image of his character “Maetel” pops in my head.  
Anyway, I was just practicing his style a bit and created this sketch. Since I also draw a lot of MLP stuff, I decided to practice with an image of humanized Applejack.
