A stamp against Fluttermac that is not about favoring other couples or being a huge genitalia about it. Honestly? Shipping wars are as smart as throwing yourself in front of a fast-moving train. I guess we can just plainly hate dislike the shipping without being a fan of FlutterDash and whatnot. Putting up the popular pairings with both Big and Fluttershy, for people to understand me (and those who fav) just happen not to like this couple.
To add some more cents, I’m not a supporter of CheeriMac either, even though I prefer it over FlutterMac. The main reason is because Cheerilee is less dependant and more mature, so it’s more adult and a little more accurate. But still, it was result to poisoning. Staff was clever with this episode, and fanon isn’t much in its favor anymore. But should it go without poisoning, they’d be perfect for each other. But not the case and I admit it.

Personally, Fluttermac is not my cup of tea. My reasons:

It’s clich and shallow
People pretty much pair them up for the sake of a big guy with a little woman, and the motives are basically “she’s quiet and fragile, and he’s a big gentle giant”. Quite predictable that the sweet and defenseless girl would marry the gentle giant because she needs a man with a strong yet patient personality. It’d help, indeed, but I believe Fluttershy needs somepony to help her shake that head a little more, Big Mac would just make her some sort of quiet housewife.
Fluttershy’s not weak, but she needs bigger attention
Honestly, I always found Fluttershy too soft for him. To me (for both canon and headcanon), Big Mac’s actually an alpha male, because he IS the owner of a big farm and those guys are quite authoritary, and given what’s shown in canon he’s not that gentle, yet not reserved, or any shy at all - if he’s quiet, it’s because he’s pragmatic. Also, let’s remember he had to deal with a huge property and take care of two younger sisters and his grandmother at a young age. Yes, Fluttershy is hardworking, but he likes (and needs) a stronger mind and tougher character more (and Fluttershy being strong-minded like Applejack is clearly out of character).
Fluttershy’s prissy
She has a knack for sophistication and can be quite prissy even for a prissy filly, though she doesn’t show this often (that’s also why I always hated how people portray her gijinkas as a hippie or a low-class vegan), and I don’t think this suits Big Mac’s taste for the rustic things, even if she lives in a cottage. He would prefer tougher mares with a less “proper” taste.
He’s old even for a girl only a little older than his younger sister. Mentally.
While interesting to work, the idea of your boyfriend/hubby being something close to a father figure doesn’t make a good couple. Taking care of and pacifying doesn’t mean “to raise” - for the lack of a proper term. Yes, that kind of love suits. Between a father and a daughter, or son for that matter. Big Mac’s girl has to be older (even if FS is the oldest in mane cast, she’s probably relatively more younger than expected). Notice how he treats his two sisters like daughters.
Lack of motivation detected
Big Mac never showed any interest in any filly, nor in colts. If anything, he’d be gentle to Fluttershy AND Cheerilee AND every other mare he meets. So I don’t believe we’ll have a suitable matesprit for him anytime soon (and I just hope staff doesn’t do it). And I believe he doesn’t want one, because taking care of the farm is more important. Also, given that Applejack is well known in Ponyville, where Fluttershy lived for years, wouldn’t it be fairly easy to happen if it was to?
