Description
Shortly after Maud Pie moved into her cavern home, the geologist mare and her new friend Starlight Glimmer began an unusual friendship (one Pinkie Pie did not initially predict). Each week, the two mares got together for an afternoon of activities away from the Mane 6: kite flying, rock climbing, afternoon tea, and a picnic dinner down by the waterfall behind Maud’s cavern. Both Starlight and Maud enjoyed their weekly get together because, as Maud put it, they both “got each other”. As these meetings hit the first year mark, Maud suggested that they take these one day afternoons and make them into longer explorations. Intrigued by the sense of adventure (and to escape the humdrum of the Sparkle Castle), Starlight agreed to adventures with Maud. From the outside of this relationship, any pony could see that romantic feelings were forming, at least on Starlight’s end (Maud is tougher to read). These adventures across Equestria became a favored pastime for Starlight, yet she herself could not place a hoof on her feelings: she had never felt an attraction to a mare before, and yet Maud brought a new sensation to the unicorn. Starlight grew even more confused when she tried to read Maud’s feelings, but couldn’t since the earth mare did not like expressing any feelings. Eventually Starlight wanted to get to the bottom of her feelings, and so decided to confront Maud about their relationship. Starlight knew exactly when to ask too: the two mares were preparing for another trip to Ghastly Gorge to explore the caverns, and Starlight knew that Maud could not escape her confrontation. Unfortunately the confrontation came while the two mares were dangling for life over the canyon with quarry eels snapping bellow. When the two mares escaped their dangerous situation, Starlight was met with a surprise kiss from Maud, who then told Starlight that the feelings were mutual. The two mares returned to Ponyville worried how their friends would take the relationship; however to no ones real surprise the Mane 6 took Maud and Starlight’s relationship with open arms (Pinkie Pie the most who insisted on a large party to celebrate). From then on, Starlight and Maud were inseparable, going on adventures around the world for Maud’s research. Along the way, the two mares grew closer and eventually had a small marriage ceremony (they later allowed Pinkie to throw them an actual wedding with all the frills and cake). A few years went by before the question of a family entered the relationship. Surprisingly Maud really wanted a family, and so the two decided to see if they was a way for them to have biological children. Maud eventually learned of a special rock that, when combined with a powerful spell, could allow a mare wearing the rock to temporarily become a stallion. The two searched for a year before they finally found the rock deep in a cave well beyond the lands of Yakyakistan. With the help of Sunburst’s vast library, Starlight found the spell to make the rock work, and so one night the mares decided to test the spell out. Maud volunteered to become a stallion, and after a long but successful night, Starlight became pregnant with their first child. Months later the two mares welcomed a unicorn they named Amethyst Swirl. The mares were eager to try the gender spell again, and once again their efforts were successful with Maud giving birth to Chalcocite Quartz Pie. Today, Starlight and Maud continue their adventures for Maud’s research, usually with their daughters joining them, either on their mother’s adventures or on their own adventures.–
Man these stories are getting longerI do ship more than just the Mane 6 ponies: I have a fleet of ships! May I present my seventh MLP NG family, Maud Pie and Starlight Glimmer, the MaudLight Family!Idk the official ship name for these two sorryFor their next generation, I present Amethyst Swirl (unicorn, right) and Chalcocite Quartz Pie (earth mare, left). For now, information on the two girls conceived thanks to a rock:–
Amethyst Swirl (Pie)
Species: Unicorn
Story:
Amythest Swirl is the first born daughter of Starlight Glimmer and Maud Pie. To those around her, Amethyst is a delicate, beautiful flower portraying sophistication and grace. Although that is all true, Amethyst is more than just her looks: she is a born adventurer. “Amy”, as she prefers to be called, is not afraid to jump into canyons, swim the deepest seas, and get covered in mud all for the sake of adventure and discovery. Her talent is in cartography, so Amy’s adventures are usually quests to create better maps for Equestria. Amy often joins her mothers and sister on their journeys, hoping to add something new to her map of Equestria.
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: A compass rose with two parallel swirls. The mark symbolizes Amethyst’s talent in cartography and discovery.Chalcocite Quartz (Pie)
Species: Earth Pony
Story:
Chalcocite Quartz Pie is the second daughter of Starlight Glimmer and Maud Pie. “Chal” is pretty much a clone of her mother Maud: both present a facade of calm and seriousness, yet on the inside are artsy, brave, and soulful ponies who share deep love. The only difference between these two mares (besides some physical attributes) are their talents: while Maud is a geologist, Chal is an archaeologist and anthropologist. Both mares enjoy talking about their “treasures” since they are closely related, which result in tangents that seem more like lectures to Starlight and Amy than actual adventure stories.
Cutie Mark/Special Talent: A broken vase. The mark symbolizes Chal’s talent in archaeology and anthropology.
