“A gifted scholar of the prestigious Everfree Academy, and one of Provost Star Swirl’s prized students. She was among the scholars that discovered the miracles brought about by the power of the Cosmos seeping into the mortal world. Inspired, Sunset saw an opportunity to bring mankind closer to the realm beyond, perhaps even make contact with the Great Mother and her Daughters. She came to possess the most powerful of miracles, an element of pure cosmic energy, shaped like a six pointed star, and used it to further her research, determined to understand the true nature of the element and help others with its magic. However, Provost Star Swirl warned of the dangers of such research and the two had a falling out. Sunset left Everfree and traveled to Canterlot where she founded the Church of Solaris and became its first vicar.
 
Convinced that the power she had discovered originated from the great Celestia, Sunset preached that the First Daughter of the Cosmos was not only the source of all life on earth but also the savior of mankind, and that her magic would usher in a new prosperous age. Together with Moondancer, Founder of the Choir, she developed countless spells which she shared with the followers of the Church, and for a while the city of Canterlot prospered. However, the power of the Cosmos is not easily tamed and soon the Church and the entire city of Canterlot payed the price for their arrogance. Those who practiced the miracles of the Church soon began losing their minds and slowly turned into monstrosities. To counter these horrible demons the Church gathered capable hunters to dispose of them. Sunset, determined to fix her mistake, took up arms and learned the ways of combat from Shining Armor, leader of the Church Hunters. However, coming face to face with the demonic results of her foolishness had a huge impact on Sunset and upon her return she vowed to keep anyone from making the same mistake she had.
 
She took the element she cherished so much and hid it away in the clocktower of the Canterlot Cathedral. Here she remained and fought off anyone trying to uncover her secret, using her deadly skills with the blade and her powerful fire miracles. However, her attempts to undo her mistake did not save her from her fate, and the longer she fought to more her sanity slipped from her. The element she so desperately tried to defend ended up driving her mad, and eventually she fell and turned into the first Cleric Demon.”
 

 
“Happy Halloween everyone! It’s that time of year again and for me that means one thing! Eating lots of candy while playing one of my favourite creepy games of all time : Bloodborne! God do I love that game. A while ago it inspired me to make this : crydius.deviantart.com/art/Tal…  
And now it has inspired me to make this! Oh, and it was a good opportunity to test out my new flame brushes. Drawing flames is gonna be so much easier now.
 
So I was playing through the dlc and Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower might be my favourite boss ever. And then I started thinking (scary, I know) and I came up with this! So Sunset’s story is a mix between Maria’s and Laurence’s, as I feel they both fit her very well. It was a load of fun, hope you like it. ^^
