Queen Chrysalis’ attack on the Crystal Empire seemed unstoppable with her swarms of soldier changelings overwhelming all opposition through sheer numbers. Only Shining Armor’s shield around the Crystal City was keeping the empire’s citizens safe so far, but he could not keep that up forever. Chrysalis had to be stopped.
