Firefly passes away soon after giving birth due to an infection. Rainbow Strike raised Rainbow Dash as best he could by himself, but often needed help from his sister, Rainbowshine.
 
Rainbow Dash’s baby cousin, Amethyst Beat, was born on the same day as the Cake twins. She was already at the hospital getting to know the newest member of her family when the Cakes and everypony else showed up.
 
Dumb-Bell’s parents get a divorce when he was 10 and was mostly raised by his father, Crafty Crate, who is a huge grumpface.
 
Zecora, long before she met the Mane Six, lived in a hidden village of blank flanks with her husband, Greyhoof, and daughter, Ruby. I won’t spoil the story for those who haven’t played Story of the Blanks, but Zecora caused everything that happened to the villagers because she was pissed about the murder of her daughter.
 
Zecora and Crafty Crate met when he made a delivery to her hut. Though he wouldn’t admit it, Crafty was very interested in the odd yet beautiful zebra. He returned to her hut often to ask if she needed anything. One day Zecora was like, “Just ask me out already”, and the rest is history. Dumb-Bell isn’t too sure how he feels about his mysterious new step-mom, but his dad is happy, so whatever.
 
Dumb-Bell and Beauty Brass have a very short lived relationship. Dumb-Bell breaks things off with her after a fight that almost got violent. It’s only after he’s gone that Beauty realizes she’s pregnant. She never bothers to tell Dumb-Bell about his son.
 
Rainbow Dash bumped into her old childhood bully at a bar one day. She was feeling depressed because she was to only single one left out of all her friends and she really didn’t want to deal with him at the moment. She started to leave, but to her surprise, Dumb-Bell asked if she wanted to hang out. After seeing a movie, Dumb-Bell confessed that he had always thought Rainbow Dash was gorgeous. RD was shocked, but somewhat happy. Why? Why was she happy? Did she maybe like him too? HIM?! The two were married a few months later.
 
After having Kickstart, Rainbow Dash started to change. She was always tired and stressed, basically your typical new mom. This cased her relationship with her husband to sour. Dumb-Bell wanted the fun, energetic mare he married back. The two fought constantly and eventually split.
 
When Kickstart is 13 her parents make up and get back together. Though, Dumb-Bell loves her and tries to be a good father, Kickstart is still not completely comfortable around him yet. She’s getting better though.
