Before she was sent away, she always found joy in bringing joy to others. She loved helping those who weren’t as fortunate as her, helping them find their way and better themselves. She was actually known as the Mother of the Night for this very reason. She always felt great pride and love for the young ones that would flock to her. She always loved hearing their questions on just what dreams were like. How different they were for others and so on.
When she found herself in the dreams of those suffering from nightmares, she would always make it a point to cheer them up and guide them along. Luna loved playing around along side the young fillies and colts after they were cheered up in their dreams, she’d always make sure the young ones knew they were not alone in their fears and that they would indeed overcome them in the future.
Though, when the fateful day came that she would become Nightmare Moon, she had lost thousands of years to rumors and legends that were fallen to her name. And once she had returned, she had found herself out of touch with those around her. She felt alienated in her own home. Even with her sister she had felt as if she was babying her simply because of the past. It would take years to recover herself along with her stained reputation, but she would see through to the end. Finding a way to reach out to those who she saw needed help as she once had before.
Now, with her retirement in full swing, Luna finds more time to look at the world around her, seeing sights she had once saw thousands of years ago all new and different. She still makes time to look after those in dreams, especially checking up on those she once seen before, but she makes it a point to make a shift in those ponies lives, not simply being the ghost that may or may not speak to them in their dreams. She wishes to make a change that she wasn’t able to with her diplomatic duties.
And so she spends her days by her sister’s side, looking over the youth and elders of equestria, making sure to pick up where she had once left off.
