My motives? I think people mistake brotherly/sisterly love with actual romance or crush in denial (hence why I put “incest” there). And that would be some sort of abusive relationship fated to end - Fluttershy may be cynical at times, but still, I don’t see Dashie being enough nurturing to love someone, let alone someone this sensitive. If this is your OTP, either you get the wrong idea about one of them or you just like to see characters suffer.
