It had been a few days since former principal Abacus Cinch hypnotized her former student, Twilight Sparkle, into coming back to Crystal Prep Academy and while Cinch has enjoyed having the purple-skinned bookworm under her control, everyone else has been in a panic. Due to Cinch forcing her hypnotized protege (who is once again wearing the school’s uniform) to take up permanent residence in her old laboratory closet at the school with very little contact with the outside world, her family and friends have not been able to find her after she disappeared from Sugarcube Corner Café (where Cinch initially hypnotized her) and the faculty at Canterlot High are not of much assistance as they received an CHS-CPA transfer forum signed by Twilight herself (on Cinch’s orders), but nobody at either has school has seen her at all. This is because (again), Cinch has done a rather good job at keeping the hypnotized Twilight confined to her lab/residential quarters at all times during the school day, only allowing her out for scheduled bathroom breaks and for bathing in the locker room showers one night a week. What’s more, the former principal makes sure to re-hypnotize Twilight once a week to make sure her trance sticks. Despite her boundaries, however, Cinch (who has also been keeping her presence at the school a secret) makes sure to keep her servant well fed and brings the young scientist her meals every day, but mostly keeps her busy with researching all she can about the strange magic leaking into the Human World. Cinch is content with how good things are going, but knows she’ll have to act fast as Principal Cadance (who was on vacation when all this took place) will be returning to work in a day’s time and could potentially ruin her plans. However, after coming across an old invention of Twilight’s, Cinch quickly thinks up a scheme to get Cadance out of the way…
 
*The next day, Principal Cadance returns work at Crystal Prep after a relaxing vacation at a spa resort, expecting things to be just the same as when she left. Upon entering her office, however, she finds a note on her desk telling her to go to Twilight Sparkle’s old laboratory for some mysterious reason. Although she has her suspicions, Cadance decides to go anyways, thinking it may be some sort of surprise from a couple of students. Entering the small room, the pink-skinned woman is confused when all she finds in front of her is a TV-like monitor with a blue and green spiral spinning around on the screen. This device was built by Twilight sometime before the Friendship Games for a case study about hypnosis and has been proven to work in the past. It still seems to work now as once Cadance looks into the alluring spiral, she finds it very hard to look away. Eventually, the young principal is completely entranced by the device as she stands in the doorway looking at it with her arms limply hanging at her sides, the spirals dominating her mind and erasing her thoughts. Seeing that her target is in a deep trance, Cinch (who had hidden Twilight in a janitor’s closet earlier) steps out of the shadows to address the hypnotized Cadance. The older woman then installs a trigger in the younger principal’s mind that will make her more useful in the future: anytime that Cadance hears Cinch snap her fingers, she will fall back into a trance, remove her shoes, go down to her knees, and be completely open to obeying Cinch’s orders… *
 
After Cadance accepts the trigger, Cinch turns off the monitor and snaps her fingers to wake Cadance up from her trance. Upon snapping back to reality, the pink-skinned woman is surprised to see Cinch standing in front of her, but when she demands to know what is going on, she is cut off by the former principal (who wants to see if the hypnosis works) snapping her fingers. With her trigger activated, the re-hypnotized Cadance kicks off her gold high heels (leaving her barefoot), drops to her knees in front of Cinch, and asks in a blank tone what her first task is. Pleased that her plan has succeeded, Cinch tells the former dean that she is not needed at the moment and that she will summon her via text message to any given location when she requires her assistance. Cinch then instructs the pink-skinned woman to go back to her office to take a 5-minute nap at her desk and that she will wake up unhypnotized with no memory of what just happened. Standing back up, Cadance (still in her bare feet) gives Cinch a curtsy before turning around and walking out of the room, her arms stretched out in front of her like a sleepwalker. As she leaves, Cinch watches on with a devilish smirk on her face before leaving the room herself to go retrieve her first hypnotized pawn…..
