My submission for NATG VIII: Day 12!
 
Today’s theme was “Draw a pony family / Draw a pony leaving the nest.” And my Celestia, this took me so long … I started about 4 hours before the submit time, and I was still 1.5 hours late … Drawing lots of ponies is hard! And there was minimal “cheating” with this one: everypony has their eyes open, and 3 of 6 cutiemarks are showing! Needless to say, I was trying to majorly rush through this one, and it still took me forever … hence, I’m not the happiest with how everything came out. But for a panic job, I’d say it’s still passable. Just things off like proportions or preciseness of lining or colouring, or shapes of things, or like Dashie’s tail colouring, I didn’t have time to make it look right … Could be worse though.
 
So yeah, for the theme of “Family” I decided to draw the Mane 6. Initially I thought I might draw, like, the Apple Family, but then it crossed my mind to draw the Mane 6. Because, you know, these 6 friends are about as close as any family members ever are. They even get on each others nerves in a similar way from time to time as well, haha. I found this idea important, hence why there’s no pun in the title and it’s simply titled “Family.” It may not have come out perfectly, but the idea behind drawing this picture for this prompt has a significant meaning to me.
