“Let’s see how Great and Powerful you are… against your own dark side!”  
Another of the concepts that went into making an MLP / Equestria Girls comic that would crossover with classic games, from 8- to 16-bit, all through the turn of the century, Ninja Gaiden was the epitome of what cinematic cutscenes looked like in the 8-Bit Era. (Though my own platforming skills– especially jump timing– were never quite up to making any headway on these games, I still like the concept, and found the storyline connecting all of the different stages uncommonly compelling for a game of that period. ) The idea of using Trixie for this part had its roots in a concept that was only mentioned, but never shown on-screen: the Shadow Boss from Double Dragon, as well as Mirror Matches in general. This particular scene was chosen, both because it let my shroud Trixie’s doppelganger in silhouette, and because it was one of the most icon screens from the original game.
