I really am wondering about exactly how intelligent and competent they would be in this situation. A ragtag bunch of scallywags and their crummy sailing ship against an all steel warship with an actual trained crew. Would they avoid a naval vessel or would their greed get the better of them and engage said naval vessel.

I mean were talking 18th century pirates against 20th century naval vessels.

Rash move. The battleships use machine guns and artillery. And the leader might be a grand swordsman and martial artist.
It rock if the leader of the navy was part Chinese and a kung th fighter, and uses a cap versus the dog captain’s cutlass.
